So what would you say is the safest car? Looking to buy a new car just want to sell my small lotus the car is to small i'm scared to risk my life with it. A Volvo or the newer renaults other than the clio. They generally get 5 star safety ratings.Bourbons3

Everybody tells me a Volvo but a saw some crash test videos on youtube and all the Volvos we're smashed to hell while other ones we're intact enough to live.

well that smashing might just save your life. I'd say in almost every crash it's not the car crushing in on you that kills you but the secondary impact of the crash (the one where your body crashes), with cars that tend to smash they lessen that secondary impact and tend to save more lives.
