there are still about 50,000 troops left in Iraq, so i wouldn't say the U.S. is COMPLETELY done with Iraq, Those troops will be stationed there till May of next year when they will all be withdrawn from the area. But I am glad that majority of the soldiers will be coming back to their homes.
calzeta930
they should keep some in
Believe it or not, a lot of people supported Saddam Hussein and that's why they opposed the war.
Many liberals in the US support him.

Where, may I ask, are you getting this information?
Starting a war then leaving early forcing the British & coalition troops to sort it out, excellent :/mikegtfchow long until it's no longer early? When an everlasting peace has spread across the land?
[QUOTE="drufeous"]
Thank god. Get those soldiers home. Thank you all for your service and remember those who lost their lives over there. I lost a good friend to that war and what was accomplished?

we got lots of oil
good old captailism
People still believe that? :?

[QUOTE="GD-1369211121"] Yes, your right. We should of just let Saddam kill everyone there. Come on... Seriously? The US has been the world police in just about every war. Maybe you should read a history book sometime, you might learn something.
Apocalypse33
I do hope you realise that congress has not formally declared war since 1942. Anyway, so you justify the invasion of Iraq by claiming that Saddam would have killed everyone. Well what about eastern Africa? What about the Somalian and Sudanese which are being oppressed because they are a certain ethnicity or religion? Just because America has acted like the world police (for the most part it hasn't, the Korean war was completely justified, I wouldn't say the same about Vietnam, Kosovo was worse AND backed by a UN resolution, etc.) doesnt mean that it is appreciated.
Africa doesn't have oil, duh!!! At least as readily accessible.

No countries are divided in half, there is no Soviet Union and friends backing the opposition, the Vietnam War lasted at least 16 years and escalated very slowly, while this happened rather quickly, so far there have not been numerous coup d e'tats in a short time span, the Vietnam War was far more combat based than this one, and the insurgents in Iraq control little of the population.
The country was better off under Saddam for this one reason:
The various factions and groups feared him more than they hated each other.

That or the aforementioned dissolution of Saddam's Iraqi security forces after the invasion, which allowed said groups to gain a foothold and entrench themselves in the country to carry out their own agenda in the power vacuum.
I guess I'll take the optimistic route and say for the moment it looks like the nightmare is just about over 8)

Make some new excuses. That war was unjust - the society was told that the initial reasons for invasion were: WMD being developed in Iraq and Saddam having ties with Al Qaeda. Time proved both those claims to be untrue. During Saddam's regime (24 years) 1 million of Iraqi people lost their lives. Another 1 million lives was lost as the result of peace forces intervention - and that took place only across 7 years.
On top of that after taking Baghdad, US forces only secured The Ministry of Oil, the National Museum was plundered and National Library was burned to the ground. That places contained some artifacts that were over 4000 years old.
Moreover the puppet government of Iraq will collapse soon after the coalition troops pull out.
So yeah, USA USA USA USA USA USA USA.

I'm not defending the other guy, but do you really think it's easy to prevent civillian casualties in war? And that's without even mentioning the cowardly way these terrorists fight, it makes it extremely difficult to get anything done.[QUOTE="shinian"]

Democracy ;)
Not really. There's already been vote rigging and mass bannings of candidates based on faulty accusations that they were members of Saddam's bath party. :(Iraqis should've have cheered and celebrated the deaths on 9/11.
Otherwise, I would have some sympathy for them, but I don't and never will ever again.
