[QUOTE="Mystic-G"] Can China's military come up with any original ideas for their own? Seems like they're always copying.Mystic-G

Why spend decades researching when you can easily reverse engineer tech that's available today?

Because treasures like the helicopter are rare finds and you would be holding your military back waiting to copy anything good you may come across. On a side note, I can only imagine how much China paid for it.

i doubt they're simply waiting to pick up anything interesting they get from others. they're working on their own stuff too but if they can get free ideas from others, why not take advantage?

I guess you're right. Just seems like cheap tactics and screams that their technology is actually lacking if they have to result to this.

Well... we do spend more money on our military than the rest of the world... combined. Keeping that in mind, I doubt that there's much our military could display that would surprise me.

I doubt its a completely new helicopter. I don't doubt its some sort of heavily modified version of a current helicopter although its still sucks that it malfunctioned.

Not really, EVERY country would do the same thing. Hence why it's common practice to scuttle disabled vehicles lost in the field. You don't want your enemy (or really anyone) getting their hands on your technology.
