I have heard/read this since the game ended yesterday and quite frnakly cant figure out what bleeping game these people were watching. The Cowboys were over matched. Romo was acting as if he was under a mad rush early in the game when he was not. Very antsy. Poor play calling. Oh and Farve was hitting TD passes while holding a chili dog and fries in the other hand, thats how "under pressure" he was :)

The idiocy of saying they RAN UP THE SCORE needs to stop. Case in point: Gonna hit the Cowboy fans with a little math here, I have a feeling the fans/ Cowbaby players who are harping on this are not big on "bookleanin" and stuff, so I take it slow.

The NFC playoff game on the other side of the bracket, NO vs the Cards:

NO: 45

Cards: 14

Margin of Victory = 45 -14 = 31 points

-----------------------------------------------

Vikes: 34

Dallas:3

Margin of Victory = 34-3 = (GASP!) 31 points or the SAME as the NO/ARI game

So.....what NO was doing was NOT running up the score but what the Vikes did WAS running up the score.Makes no sense. Add to that that theSaints tried to give Warner 2 concussions on the same play. In the playoffs you score as many damn times as you can, does not matter. January 3, 1993 comes to mind. Bills vs the Oilers. Start of the 2nd half the score is 28-3 in favor Oilers. The Bills come back, tie the game and win in overtime, all with their backup QB (Kelly was not in the game at all) Thats why you score and score and score until the refs make you stop.

The Cowboys have no one to blame but themselves. They figure their kicker has a max range of 45 yards but then decide to do a 48 yarder on 4th and Inches. Miss wide left. He's lucky it was just a miss, ask the Vikings about long FGs. They tried one back in the 49er game at the end of the half and it was blocked and ran back for 6.

I hope the Vikes score 80 points against NO. Stick it to em.

The Saints weren't passing on 4th down with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. Of course the Vikings were running up the score.

Personally I would be more offended if a team came out to face mine packed with backup players than if they kept on trying to score even after the game was clearly decided.

They need to change the name of the team to something more fitting.

1. Cowbabys

2. The Dallas Calves

3. Cupcakes

4. Dallas "Dont score on us or we will cry cry cry" Cowboys

Oh, the last time I checked in the other team one team is on offense and one team is on DEfense. They get to put people out on the field to try to stop the offense and stuff. I mean I know its crazy. Too bad Dallas's defense got lost in their checked luggage.

The difference is the saints werent passing in the final minutes to try to score. I read the news and see some players from the cowboys complaining which is a joke. Your payed proffesionals, don't want to score? Well play some D.

Seems like the Dallas team is a bunch of sore losers. Vikes could have taken the 3 easy points from a field goal, but instead gave the Dallas D a chance to man up and stop the Vikes offense. That Dallas linebacker, Brookings(?) is the biggest sore loser of them all.

America's Team???? God, lets hope not.

Its pro football. There is no running up scores.

If Dallas did not want the Vikings scoring all those touchdowns, then they should of have played better and smarter defense.

I dont know why everyone likes the Cowboys so much? They are an average team who cant really go against the elite teams in the NFL.

last i checked, it was a playoff game. they were both good teams and needed to win. you dont stop scoring to make the other team feel good about themselves. you stop scoring when the 4th quarter ends and youve won.

Wow...really...they are a GOOD team (not great) -they played bad and lost to a better team -but those same Cowboys went into New Orleans and beat the Saints Dallas has a few weaknesses...but are very close to being Great -need a kicker, O-line help, and safety help...other than that, they are B+ to A+ at every position -but O-line is just that important (can ruin a good team)

what does it mean to run up the score =/Jandurin

its when youre in the lead and essentially guarentted to win, but you decide to go ahead and keep scoring because you can. Some people consider it unsportsmanlike.

Example:

One team has 21 points, the other team has 3 points. There are 2 minutes left in the game, but that doesnt matter...the other team decides to keep going and score a touchdown, making the score 28-3.

Gettin a little ahead of yourself there, eh? Still gotta get past the Colts and their quarterback machine a.k.a. Peyton Manning.

Not knocking your enthusiastic belief in your team bud, just sticking up for my Colts. Did I mention Peyton Manning is a quarterback machine? Hmm. Guess I did :)

There's no such thing as running up the score. If you want to keep the score tighter, player better. The onus is on the defense to not let the opponents score. Playing at less than your ability is more humiliating than playing your best and getting scored on even more.

With the Jets D im sure your star quarterback will not even be able to get any throws off. Remember it is Defense that makes the game

yea, it does not happen too often.

its just there needs to be some sense of honor to sports.

a lot of times, if a bad team plays a good team, the score will be like 48-7, and the team in the lead will put in their second string player and bench warmers. When they dont, and they keep scoring...thats just disrespectful.

Vikings scored when they didn't need to that was for sure. Having said that there is a certain irony that a team with such bravado complains when they end up loosing.

I'm curious to hear from those of you who say the Vikings ran up the score: What were they supposed to do? Should Favre have just taken a knee and turned the ball over to Dallas on downs? Would it have been better if they had ran the field goal team out and taken the easy 3 points? Is it because they threw a pass instead of running Peterson up the gut?

Like I said in my first post. Seems to me they gave the Dallas D some respect by giving them a chance to stop the Vikings offense.

I'm not so sure it's disrespectful. When you're a professional athlete, and your opponents are going easy on you, I'd imagine that's disrespectful/humiliating. Especially in the playoffs. Bpth teams worked hard to make it to where they are, and they owe each other their best. Any less is a slap in the face.

I guess the Cowboys were mad that after already having a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter that they scored another... I don't get why that was wrong or poor sportsmanship...the vikings recovered a fumbled ball on their 10 yard line.... come on, that is just asking for the other team to score.

Brett Favre gets pay 25 million dollars to play football. Thats $25,000,000 to play football. For that kinda money i want to see 7 touchdowns a game. Last i checked all the defenders on dallas get paid millions of dollars to play football. Football. Go out on the field and do your job.

What would you expect Favre to do, not do his job that he gets paid $25,000,000 to do?

Honestly, when the darn Patriots ran up the score did anyone cry this much? No. Then again I am sure we all know they like to run up the score. The Vikings were just showing that we shouldnt of been the underdog as all of the analyst made us. Plus the 'Boys shoulda stopped them. Lets hope we can play this good or better against the Saints.

I'll tell you why.

J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets. Rex Ryan is Buddy Ryan's son. Buddy has two superbowls. One with the Jets and another with the Bears. And he created the Purple People Eaters. He was a defensive genius. Like father, like son.

Cowboys are just mad they got what was coming to them. I loved that game, Brett Favre is my hero. I hope to see the Vikes go to the superbowl so everyone can stop whining about Brett coming out of retirement again and again.

The Cowboys are hated by everyone outside of Texas.

I root for every team who plays against the Cowboys. I depise the team, their fans, their players, their surgically altered owner and their overpriced stadium.

My only regret is that T.O. still isn't there crying about Romo.

When I play against them on Madden, I try to put up over 100 points on them every game.

before they started whining the Cowboys forgot that only a week earlier they ran the score up worse against Philly.

So now the "shoe is on the other foot" it feels different when you lose the game is all.

Dallas is just one of those teams everyone loves to defeat.

People will just gripe when he does it again next year...he is so melodramatic...STFU and decide already -I mean if he wants to play then play, if he wants to skip camp then do it (the team won't care) -he such a Diva though...just say you are forcing your way to the Vikes...admit it like a man -Everybody always says he is so great for playing through pain...well I could to if I was addicted to pain killers -that is why I can't root for the Vikes (I love Allen and Peterson)

People complaining about running up scores is just a symptom of the wussification of our society. These guys get paid millions of dollars to score points, not hold back on scoring points because it will hurt the other team's feelings.
