I've noticed a trend in television series to go on too long and then, have rather anti-climactic or sucky endings. What do you think is the worst of all time? A few contenders to the throne that I can think of to include: 1. The Sopranos 2. The Dead Zone 3. Seinfeld 4. Highlander

How did that one end?

The main romantic interest is between Dick and Mary. The entire series revolves around their relationship, as colleagues and, eventually, lovers. In the finale, however, Dick and the rest are called back to their home planet, so DICK MAKES MARY FORGET HE EVER EXISTED.

Not only does this undo the very knot that held the series together, but IT MAKES NO ****ING SENSE. When Mary wakes up, I'm sure none of the many supporting characters will mention her relationship with Dick.

They made another ending where Dick comes back, stark naked, and takes Mary with him. I prefer this ending simply because it makes a tiny bit more sense.

For Third Rock,
The family returns to their alien planet and Dick knocks out Marie to make her forget about him. Even though he didn't do that to everyone else so she'd be the only one who doesn't remember the love of her life... doesn't that seem cruel to you?
Odyssey 5/Jericho had awful endings because they were cliffhangers and then were cancelled. :(

Don't tell me that Jericho didn't end with a cliffhanger either, the coming of the second American civil war is a pretty amazing cliffhanger!

The X-Files ending was so bad no one even remembers it enough to mention it. St. Elsewhere's ending was a ludicrous jumping of the shark, yet nearly the same ending worked 1000x better for the sitcom Newhart; go figure.

Yes! I can pretty much forgive Enterprise though because it was canceled in a hurry, Voyager though..they had 7 years to come up with an ending to ONE story, Voyager getting home..and they ruined and rushed it.

The Enterprise ending was the most contemptuous one I ever saw. "Hey, let's turn the series into a trivial addendum to a b-story for a different series that went off the air 15 or so years earlier!

The 4400 had a horrible ending because it ended in a cliffhanger and then was canceled. They tried to wrap the series up with a book but it didn't work either.

Well, one of the storyline's was Hawkeye (Alda's character) having a breakdown after remembering yelling at a woman to make her chicken to be quiet, so she killed it (there's context and reason for it, but anyway), and going through therapy and learning that it was her baby, not a chicken and that he had just been all TV crazy remembering the baby as a chicken. The end-end was the amistice, which was overdue, since the series lasted 4 or 5 times as long as the Korean war.

The second season picked up on the last half but the first was entirely gold. Its just so stupid that CW continues with Melrose Place and 90210 and stuff but let go of Reaper.

Am I the only one who actually liked the Seinfeld finale? I mean REALLY liked? Guess I'm in the minority.

The 3rd Rock finale was a bit underwhelming but I still enjoyed it. The one finale I really didn't like was the one for "Everybody Loves Raymond". It seemed rushed and it was almost like they were trying too hard to make it memorable but for me at least, it felt underwhelming.

some data about alf's ending... the show was not supposed to end there, it was going to be continued, the producers had an unofficial deal with NBC to make one last episode but NBC never did anything so it "ended" in a cliffhanger. but theres a movie that DOES ends the series: project alf...it waesnt very famous and its not very good either but it at least puts an end to the serie

I loved the whole X-files series, but the ending was kind of weak; probably because Carter never wanted to "end" the show and meant for it to continue, but still pretty lame.
