Murderers, obviously. None of the others actually end a person's existence.

Bankers, lawyers, media manipulators, and corrupt politicians. Their actions negatively impact on the vast majority of society, unlike the limited impact that the actions of the choices you present have.

GrandJury

They are pretty bad. They feel because of their power they can get away with it.

Yes and our legal system protects these monsters and keeps them fat and happy

[QUOTE="hiphops_savior"]The people who demand vengeance on criminals.Trinners

Oh wow. I never realised that those with a sense of justice are considered criminals now.

Wait what? Since when did vengeance become justice again? I thought we abandoned that way of thinking back in the dark ages.

Well I may have got that original quote wrong but the way I read it was for those to seek a righting of a wrong. I read it as placing the worst type of criminal was the one who was originally wronged and not the one who commited the 1st act. Demonising the original victim. Does that make sense?

The ones that do it not because they've fallen into temptation, nor think of it as right, but because it is inherently evil. They'd be wrong, but i'd say that's as close to the dark side as it gets.

Pedophiles, by far. Darth-Caedus

I don't get this logic at all. How could any crime be worse than murder? It doesn't make sense. Murder is the ultimate crime. It harms a person by the maximum amount possible. As bad as rape is, it doesn't kill a person.

I mean, everyone saying "pedophiles", let me get this straight: If I went out and brutally killed a child is a slow, agonzing way, that would still be better than me molesting the kid?

I don't get why they put pedophiles there in the first place when they have rape and murder, pedophilia is just having an attraction to prepubescent children, it's not a crime.

I voted for rape. One can kill out of self defense, or a soldier can kill in war. There is no valid excuse for rape.

Scammers hurt people financially, but I don't think they are the worst.

Pedos are ill, not criminals. If they act on their illness, then they become criminals.

Killers. It's not even a contest. You are ending someone's life.

Trinners

This. I mean, if someone is raped or molested they at least have a chance to go on living after that, but if you're dead, that's it.

Remorseless criminals. It's one thing to kill in a blind fit of passion, but there are guys who will sit there and calmly work out how best to defraud large groups of people and they will usually treated disproportianately well. Are we supposed to think that these people pose less risk to society?

Technically a sociopath can be a white collar criminal (someone who scams people with no remorse) or a serial killer who when on trial says he has absolute no remorse for having killed people. It's all on if they feel bad for doing what they did. A sociopath is generally someone who just cannot feel remorse.

Good question. Well, I guess technically you can't get worse than murderers because someone is DEAD because of them but there is something about pedophiles and any sexual crime against children that somehow strikes me as worse. I hope they get everything they deserve and more in prison.....

These terms always confuse me. You see, that's how I understood a psychopath. I always got the feeling that a sociopath was like a psycopath, but his actions have a much broader social effect than the psycopath's. Psychology's so confusing lol.

I have a two situations for you that i had in my class once( just to get some discussion :)) : 1. Someone get's caught with heroin, and get's charged distributing drugs. But he says he will only use it for himself not harming anyone else. What do you think of this? 2. A man get's psychologically terrorised for 30 years by his mother/father and has no job, no life, no girlfriend and no future and lives home. He then kills her. Your thoughts?

In situation 1, I'd want to know how much heroin the guy had and also whether he's a known addict. If there's no chance that he's supplying others purely for profit, then I'd try to get him on some sort of rehab scheme. The guy should be treated as a victim, not as the cause of the problem in himself. In scenario 2, Of course this person has to be punished. It's very likely that with every crime, you could pass the buck further, but it's at least one function of the justice system to act as a deterrent and he must be deemed culpable for his actions. I'm sure that he can use his psychological background in mitigation, and there's a good chance that the courts would show leniancy in sentencing. Ideally, psychiatric treatment would be the first port of call.

In my observance of the justice system, actual treatment of a known illness that caused the crime is toward the bottom of the list of "to do's".

I'd judge it by who represents the most harm to society. I really couldn't say. The killer seems more likely to me to cause serious harm in future, but I'm not a psychologist and he doesn't even exist, so how could I assess that? Then again, supply of heroin can destroy multiple lives, and if it's done purely for financial gain, then you could say that the dealer is doing so knowingly and dispassionately, whereas the killer is driven by something he can't control.

Pedophilia is the only one of those crimes that has never been acceptable in any culture ever, Soldiers are payed to kill and in the past rape was seen as part of the spoils of victory, scamming isn't ruining people's lives like the others. Pedophillia is the most disgusting thing I could imagine anyone would do to a child.

To be fair you don't "do pedophilia to a child". It is a mental illness. Pedophilia really shouldn't be on the list. Child molestation should. And I'm not really sure "it was never accepted" is true. Not recently, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a taboo (or a big one) back in the BC times. Oh, and the victims of Barry Goldwater beg to argue that scamming didn't ruin their lives.

Rapist and pedophiles. They are very hated not only by the society but alsoin jails among ''zeks''(prisoners). All of them are automatically downcasted once they're in jail. Everyone hates them that's why in this aspect they're the worst kind of criminals.

well if you consider that murderer only did it to his parantes or mother/father and not repeatable. And the other guy buys drugs and sells it all the time,. Anyway there are loads of scenario's to talk about. While we are on the theme of criminals, we have a pedophile case here in the city which evolves a guy that did things to boys for 40 years. He has been charged from 70 victims and i think there are at least dozen more. What would you do to the man if you had him in a room one on one with you or in the jury?

Well Killer is the worst type however imo a more detailed list would probably go
1. Child Killers
2. Child Rapists
3. General killers

Something changes when you kill or a rape a kid, it's just sick

I love that pic. I'm guessing most people are seeing "pedophilia" and instantly assuming it means molestation of children. I.E. they don't actually know what it means or they jump to conclusions.

And I'm guessing some of you should look at a broader definition instead of only the side that suits your point of view. I.E you don't know what it means.

Wow so more people think it's worse to have sick perverted thoughts than to actually kill someone.

Dystopian-X

I love that pic. I'm guessing most people are seeing "pedophilia" and instantly assuming it means molestation of children. I.E. they don't actually know what it means or they jump to conclusions.

And I'm guessing some of you should look at a broader definition instead of only the side that suits your point of view. I.E you don't know what it means.

Not all pedophiles are child molesters while all child molesters are pedophiles. If child molesters were in the poll I can understand but that is not the case.
