It's really hilarious.

Going on the internet to create a troll account just to insult theists, show off immaturity like a trophy, generalize like crazy, and basically make a joke out of yourself.

The end result of which will likely be an IP ban for you, then everyone will probably forget you were even here in a couple days.

I really hope you feel as though you've spent your time wisely today. lulz

I don't think i'm any more or less clever than you!! I'd say im more mature, though. If you won't write an essay on the subject then it's more than likely that you cannot.

Prove me wrong...

ElZilcho90

I have plenty of essays on the subject handy but they are all in French.

Even so, the two men that wrote the books mentionnned earlier would be more likely to dissuade you of the existence of god.

My beef is not that you believe in god, my beef is that you are intellectually immature enough to actually believe in such a thing.

Disprove it. Enlighten us. Show us the error of our ways by personally disproving the existance of God, not linking to some essays someone else wrote, or citing books that you didn't write.

It's quite obvious from your posts that you're just like all the other Athiest trolls who place themselves on an intellectual pedestal because they "threw off the chains of Thiest oppression", and spend their days looking down upon those who believe in God.

In short, I give as much credence to your screams for attention as I do to those 9-year-olds who scream pre-pubescent insults into the microphone while playing Halo online.

I'm not going to write an essay to please you :|

just read the books. They fit the subject perfectly I don't think I need to write one myself.

You don't have authority to deny other people a right to their belief. You may not believe in God, that's fantastic, you are, after all, entitled to a belief. I don't believe in God either. But that doesn't mean that I should tell theists that the God they believe in doesn't exist and they're stupid for believing he does. One of the human rights we have is to follow beliefs of our choice, nobody has the right to tell someone their belief is wrong.

Don't do it to please me. Do it to save me from my doomed existance of moronic belief in a non-existant diety, as you would put it. Do it as a public service. Elnighten me, so I too can be as wise, brilliant, and awe-inspiring as you are.

This is exactly the problem with this debate...

Why do idiots feel the need to make arguments without backing them?

btw, I don't believe in God myself, but the thread creator is just a dumbass

How about you just keep your opinions to yourself.

If people are religious enough to beleive in God I doubt some random gimp saying "zomg you're an idiot he doesn't exist" is gunna change their opinion.

How many times must I tell you that I did not make this thread to convince anyone.
I only wanted to denounce intellectual immaturity through exposition of weak thought processes.
Even if you you did read the books after my post, you would still be intellectually immature...

jpzer12

So you confess to being nothing more than a troll? Here only to cause anger among people who read in an attempt to gain attention for yourself? Worthy of only a ban from this site, so as to prevent your pathetic attempts to stir up controversy?

Trust me, son. You're not the first militant Athiest to show up here, rambling about how "thiests are teh st00pids!!!!lawl!" and how "intellectually immature" we are to believe in God. And you sure as hell aren't going to be the last.

And quoting two Sam Harris books suggests you've not really read up on the issue much past these two authors. I had the impression from Sam Harris that while he is intolerant of religion to a degree, it's mainly the naivity it subjects some people to, like the idea Jesus will have his second coming in the next 50 years. He's against creationism being mandatory in schools, not against people having faith in general. You'd do well to learn the idea of people being entitled to their own opinions.

Who are you to say Intolerence is disgusting?

I am a nihilist and do not believe intolerence should be avoided.

So now you want me to respect your beliefs? Do you see the flaws in your arguments from the first post?  Wow, the irony here is simply delightful!

Wow. What a well thought out and informative post. You must be crazy if you think that the world will ever be without organized religion. I had a college course this past semester and we discussed how religion always has been a part of the human condition. Of course there are those like yourself that would rather not participate and that is fine i guess. Oh and i hope you change your mind someday.

I'm sorry if I don't hand out the utmost respect to those who waste their time trolling forums whilst claiming to be the voice of intellectual maturity.

I hate to break it to you, but I've seen countless Militant Atheists such as yourself. You're not 1 in a million. Your perspective is quite common and your ego doubly so.

I apologize if you disregard my words on the grounds that they are condescending, but it's the truth.

Not that I claim to be a genius or anything either, I actually believe I'm of a fairly average intelligence. You just need to hop off your throne and see things for how they really are. You aren't special, you aren't a great genius, you should stop generalizing people, and you should show more respect to others.

Again, sorry if I'm being mean. But really, this is hardly mature or intellectual. :/

Give me a break. This guy is a complete joke.

I'm Agnostic (yes, there's a difference between that an Atheist) but seriously, this guy comes and totally bashes everybody that has a religion, says they're wrong, and basically goes to tell them to shove it up their ass.

Get a life.

jpzer12

You can be Atheist AND Agnostic, genious.

I am a Gnostic Atheist, and you are an Agnostic Atheist.

So spare me your difference rant. At least get the difference right.

Well, excuse me, princess, for not being an expert on religion. You're probably wrong, anyways.

And learn how to spell "genius" correctly. You hardly make yourself look like a legit argument when you can't spell a simple word.

I'm french, so please tolerate some minor mistakes.

Ironic that you'd expect anyone to tolerate anything. And there is a definite difference between Agnosticism and Atheism. I'd expect someone who apparently knows so much about the topic to know such a simple thing.

I know that people are entitled to their opinions and I respect that. Doesn't stop me from thinking they are fools.

1) The GOD delusion - Richard Dawkins

2) The end of Faith - Sam Harris

3) Letter to a Christian nation - Sam Harris

Richard Dawkins is an evolutionary biologist, it's natural to assume that he will be an Atheist. Science and Religion clash quite dramatically.

I know that people are entitled to their opinions and I respect that. Doesn't stop me from thinking they are FOOLS.

Then keep it to yourself, no one cares if you think they are fools.

Fools don't like to be called fools and stop listening, I AM AWARE.

I cited Martin Luther as a religious reformer. This guy claims he wants to rid the world of Religion, which is quite the religious reform. Because there aren't any famous Athiestic reformers (Hmm... maybe that means something), I chose to refer to Luther for the above reason.

Fair point. i wasn't being narky with you, i just think our atheist topic creator is at the other end of the spectrum =P

I understand perfectly. Martin Luther's comparison to a militant athiest is a bit of a stretch, as Luther was a deeply religious man. But, like I said before, it's hard to compare the OP to any famous reformer as no such athiestic ones exist.

You made a point that was on topic and was insightful, why would I spite someone of your brilliance?

Did I not say earlier to spare me your opinions? jpzer12

Because what I said was clearly a matter of my opinion and not the simple truth of the matter.

lol, alrighty then, walk down your yellow brick road convincing yourself that you're this unique super genius with the true voice of intellectual reason.

No, of course it doesn't, but it doesn't mean you can go around stating that their beliefs are entirely fake as if it were fact, either. If you're aware that people are entitled to their opinions (and you respect that, no less), why did you make this topic in the first place saying that their opinions are wrong (which opinions can't be), when they're entitled to any opinions they choose?
