Senior year will began in a month in high school and I am very anxious about the things to come in the future. I would love to have advice from people who have been here.

Things you wish you knew in high school or you learned or realized when it was too late, what do you wish you had done in high school... any and all advice is appreciated. :)

One thing I can tell you is that most of what matters to kids in high school will mean nothing the day after you graduate. For advice I would just say to do well in your studies and prepare to move into college because it's after high school when life really begins.

Prom is eh, Sports are fun, socializing and living around school is a big bonus.

It may not matter when you go to college, but I regret not being able to take sports or living near school, because I think it would have been much more fun. I also should have joined more clubs.

I did the exact opposite and I regretted it. You didn't miss anything. People get ahead in life because they spend most of their time if not all of it studying rather than wasting itfor nothing.

I wish I'd have known how important that first year was on my GPA, then maybe I would have pushed a bit then to not have to push so hard later.

I also would have spent more time getting a job and a car and saving up for college, because man it sucks working during college.

In college maybe, highschool grades dont really mean much... i got into a decent college because while my grades sucked i managed a pretty good score on the SATs.

guess we don't share a same pov on this matter,b/c i don't believe that having fun and spending time with your friends is wasting time,in my opinion it doesn't matter whether those friendships last or not, what matters is that you live the moment and enjoy your best years of life while it lasts.

I think the main thing I learned is that a lot of people worry what others think of them and they alter their lives just on that. But in reality nobody cares it's best to just be who you want to be.

If you could have fun as well as achieve high grades, you would end up really happy.

Start planning for college from now and build up good social relationships with everyone you know.

The most important thing is to start considering your future career and the universities you can attend, believe me .. don't waste time on considering your futuremajor, speak with your career counselor. The sooner you start planning the happier you would be at the end.

I graduated HS this year, and I regret a lot of things already.

Nothing i can think of as far as the title but as for general advice: as soon as you graduate the only thing you'll have left from HS what's on your resume, HS friends don't last, status certainly doesn't last, unless it's a qualification, extra-curricular activity or memory then you will lose it after you graduate.

Have fun, for most senior year is the easiest year of hs, grades and what you do don't mean much. I had 2 classes each semster for my senior year. but realize for the most parts the girls and the friends you made in hs as soon as college starts, are probably going to mean little to nothing to you. Heck your never see most of them again. Dating is up to you, but be warned that relationship isn't going to last. You going to break up the summer you finish senior year, or soon after you go to college.

I am going into my senior year in a few weeks and ivdo have lots of regrets. i wish that i didnt mess up my grades in sophomore year. college apps would be so much easier if i just studied a bit harder that year. i also wish hat i had done more extra curricular activities throughout my hs years. hopefully i will still get into a good university though.

I wish I knew a tree that grew diplomas back when I was in high school. High school was a soul crushing experience and a waste of time.. Be more focused on getting the hell out of there, and what you're going to do after high school. Try graduating a semester early. 2nd semester of senior year was REALLY bad.

Hang out with the crowd of people you will have the most fun with, don't stick with your old friends if you find you are growing apart because either way you probably wont keep in contact with most of them anyway. I basically sacrificed having a good chunk of potential friendships by bumming around with my closest friends even though we lacked a lot of common interests and now that high school is over we barely even hang out at all.

I agree..I used all my school time to catch up on the sleep i missed and to talk. Now i have zero motivational skills and work a bad paying job instead of going to school.

Very clever question!
You were probably born about the time I graduated from high school, and here's the #1 thing I learned since then...
Self-confidence will greatly affect almost everything you do in your life!! School, friends, work, girls/boys, hobbies, etc.

If you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will believe in you (if say they do, but they're just trying to make you feel better).
If you're not confident, act like you are until you can figure things out LOL
Don't put yourself down by giving people around you too much credit.
Be positive and try to find the good side of things!
If you screwed up, or are worried about screwing up, learn to roll with it.
Work hard, pay attention, and be prepared.

You get the idea. If you learn to balance self-confidence with true ability and humility, then you'll find a lot of success in your life!

I wish I would've known how to get laid in high school. But then again, not being insanely popular made me a better man and the one I am today, so really, I'd leave it at that. However, I would have asked my dad to invest in Microsoft and Apple shares back then as they were on they're way up. Not in the beginning, but we could've made a killing.

To clarify, I dont mean that the "It gets better" project is useless. Far from it.

It can indeed get better (not only for gay people but anyone feeling that high school sucks for whatever reason) but when I was in high school I didnt have the right attitude and that prespective was not in my mind at all.

How much my life will suck from dropping out and not doing what I should have done. Very srs...you young people listen. It wasnt long ago I was a snot nosed kid...Im telling you...you better get it right from the start, because DO OVERS only happen in videogames. You hit 40 like im fixing to, and you didnt get life right, you regret it every day you breathe. ESPECIALLY when you have kids of your own that you have to preach to daily to take YOU 'the parent" as an example of what NOT to do.

Graduate high school..if you cant get in college, you BETTER join some branch of the military and make it your life. You can either work in the military for 20 years and retire well off...OR....you can work until you cant walk out here in the real world..Take your pick.

And what I say is fact...im living proof..

that a bunch of girls that i liked a some pount another also liked me and it wasnt until they had boyfriends that i found out,

Also the answers to alot of my Math questions would have been good,

Also that i should ahve saved up more money,

And finally the one thing i wish i knew back in highschool is that the people who become your bestfriends are the ones that backstabb you and are the most pricks while the people your just friends with are the most loyal.
