The only place in the Middle East I would even consider going to is Dubai. Massive growth and opportunity there right now. If you want to learn about their culture, why don't you just watch National Geographic.

and oh yea also, if you plan on "traveling" well then you are spending lots of money on that "gun" of yours to protect yourself, so once you travel to other countires they have differenct laws and what not, some that state you can't have firearms on you and such.

But surviving doesn't nescessarily have anything to with intelligence. You can die from just being unlucky, being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Well since you're smart I'm sure you've studied the dialect, customs, cultures and laws of the land alread. Even if you didn't its not like naming a bear Muhammad is going to get you stoned and killed, but even if it did you have connections to use over there to get you out of a situation like that right? You probably already know your housing situation and know how to get food, where to find local water sources, and your nearest medical facilities. You probably also know various forms of unarmed self defence, because even if you did have previous shooting experience, your not alway going to armed and in a position to shoot. Seeing as how the economy over their is, to say the least, HORRIBLE, you probably have all the money saved up now too. I mean since you totally got all that covered why not go?

Seriously if you want to travel the world join the Navy/Red Cross/etc., instead of traveling alone to a country that is still rebuilding after a war that is still going on.

Middle East culture is not really attractive...I mean, what good does a nation where their woman cant show thier faces can come? Food wise, there is nothing better than a good middle eastern restaurant, but apart from that, nothing special

Here the woman hardly wear clothes, and during a week in february we have a national holiday where we all go to the streets to party, woman get naked, we do some samba, then go to the beach and watch some more woman naked .This happens every year, and that is why we called it Carnival

Its hot, the food is great and there is no sign of a war here for about 300 years

I don't know much about the military but I'm sure they wouldn't be able to divert their attention away from their tour of duty to help a single person, no offense.

I don't expect them to help me everytime I'm in a disaster, but they will most defiantly help with big scale battles.Vilot_Hero

You probably can, there is alot of the black market going around there, but you make sure you stay in the right area, and you have to grow out a beard, just in case you run into some Taliban, they are unfair scavengers who make a living discriminating and killing, watch out, most of Afghanistan is somewhat safe, just a couple blocks owned by warlords and Taliban.

If you want to see different cultures around the world then the Middle East should be the last place you visit. If you start there you may never get a chance to see the others.

No but you could hit an IED within a week of being there or have your car breakdown in the middle of no where and not being able to speak the native language then being killed by local tribe or militia. Worst. Idea. Ever.

To answer your questions about guns, im sure you can pick up an ak-47 from a rotting corpse somewhere.
