Ok I misread you're statement.

insaneshane26

It's true!

Today's kids don't even know the difference between "you're" and "your"!

I'm sure you could also find plenty of studies showing that educational goals have been pushed forward dramatically over the years.

It wasn't that long ago that children only started learning to read at the age of about 5 or 6! That's inconceivable nowadays, when many children start reading in infancy.

And just a couple of decades ago you had to go to college to receive tuition in linear algebra and calculus, but now those topics are introduced in most high school math syllabuses.

I was reading when I was 3 months or so. :|

And you represent the majority of children?

Plus, some teachers are only in it for getting out their opinion to others. And they end up giving false information.

Lilyanne46

That, and the influence of biased opinions. It's to be expected though.

Yeah, that's why researching, and getting parents to teach their kids the real facts is important.

No. Allowing parents to choose which facts their children should be taught is not a safe road to take. And thats because the education a individual receives will vary greatly in comparison to the education of the rest. In other words, unity is achieved by a common education corpus. If 30% of teenagers are taught that X is right, 40% that Y is right, 30% that Z is right and X, Y and Z cannot be reconclied with each other you then have mass confusion.

On the other hand we already see to what issues parents raise objections. The most absurd for instance being parents who might not like their children to be taught about evolution.

Every generation is supposedly the "dumbest generation." Yet society, technology, etc, keep getting better and better. Hmm, funny how that works.
