[QUOTE="GummiRaccoon"][QUOTE="harashawn"] The problem is that you are assuming 1) that "my favourite candy" is the subject of the sentence, and 2) that "candy" is always singular. I would say that neither is true.
-What is the subject? (What is doing or being something?) "Pop Rocks"
-What is Pop Rocks? "My favourite candy."
Therefore: Pop Rocks are my favourite candy.harashawn
Pop Rocks is a very light candy.
Intel is a CPU manufacturer.
I understand your argument but I still disagree. Pop Rocks as an organization which produces the product is singular for sure; but as for the product per se, you buy a package of Pop Rocks, not a single Pop Rock. The same case goes for Cheerios. I doubt you would say "I found a Cheerios under the couch" but rather, "I found a Cheerio under the couch".Pop Rocks is a brand. Â You don't ever talk about any one pop rock. Â Also Cheerios is the brand name, it would be incorrect to call it cheerio.
I dont understand why we as a society have to say African American why cant we just say black . It is ok to say white person but not black person???.. And is not saying African American / black a wrong saying . why is it assumed that because your black you come from Africa that in itself seems stupid to me.. I see no problem with the commercial. I am a white man with a white daughter married to a black man. They have blessed me with a grandchild she happens to be white but if she would have been black my love for her would be the same.A grandchild in your life changes you forever for the better. My son in law says he hates to be called African American. He say I just want to be called an American.

All the black people I know either call themselves black or black + whatever other ethnicity they are.
Â
I have also known a lot of Africans, from Africa. Â They usually refer to themselves as whatever country they were from.
YouTubers tend to find black people to be offensive for no reason at all. Even the black people on there find black people to be offensive.
lol Well that was cute. People should be happy the tv kid even has too parents featured, not the fact that she's biracial.Â
The people offended by this commercial are people who live in the sticks or rural country areas and drive pickup trucks and say 'Murica. Because in most urban environments, interacial couples are the norm i'd say 80% of white girls in the city are with a black man, its nothing to be offended about. This commercial was directed more towards an urban audience.
