Tool fans welcome in here. Please share your case on how "good" they are.
Here's reason why they're terrible.

- Their fanbase are a bunch of dicks trying to state how "smart" their music is.
- Most of the songs they do are repetitive and bland
- They're try to be different when they just come of as stupid.
- Anyone who relates them to any great artist (When I say this I mean calling them as brilliant as Mozart or any great clas sical or pretty much any great muscian's) should go jump of a cliff.
- When I hear them I generally want to fall asleep and/or kill myself.

Also please do not post their life story/ or "struggles" they went through to become the "great" band they are today.

Not sticking up for Tool or anything, but why are you rambling about them in the Off-Topic forum at Gamespot? Will it accomplish anything?

I don't like Tool, and I don't like the fact that Buzz Osborne recorded a song with them. But I'll live with it, albeit, slightly delirious and in an constantly epileptic state.

They're not original, though. Anybody who's heard a NoMeansNo album will know what I'm talking about.

Most Tool fans I have met (mostly on here) are absolutely arrogant, lording how their favorite band is the best thing since sliced bread. MattUD1

True, but he or she could at least back up their case with some decent arguement. I don't see how a fan base makes a band any better or worse than they are.

I like them so I guess that makes me an arrogant prick Maybe their rhythm and tune just compliments my ears betters than it does yours. By stating that their fanbase is arragont in turn makes you arragont, because it sounds to me that you think you're better than a certain group of people because of the music they prefer.

Well... a band being the "greatest band ever" is entirely opinion. They're my favorite band, to me they're the greatest band ever because I really like their sound and lyrics.

I know favoritism is opinion, but I have run into quite a few people who have sat there and tried to PROVE that Tool is the GREATEST band ever. It is ridiculous....

I have never met an arrogant sect as bad as Tools, honestly...

I don't listen to the band because they are guilty by association. "What does that mean?" you may ask. I'll tell you boys and girls... Tool is one of my favorite rock artists, however it is pretty ridiculous for anyone to state they are as great as Mozart or other classical composers. For me and what I like, I think they produce great music for their genre, that's about it. I wouldn't necessarily consider them brilliant, but I'd have a hard time choosing any rock band that would deserve such a title. I just like their music, simple as that. RoyalAssassin78

I'd like to see the criteria for brilliance, it seems they've updated it to not include logic.
