lets say the doctors confirm that you are dead, but your really alive, the funeral comes up and they bury you. You wake up later to find that its pitch black and its hard to breath, you leap up only to bang your head on the top of the coffin. Your running out of breath and theres no way to get out with 3 or 4 feet of dirt on top of you. That is absolutely the scariest way to die.

If I recall from some documentary I watched, the late Harry Houdini, ironically, was afraid of being buried alive.

Mythbusters proved that couldn't happen. Assuming they put you in the casket alive, the dirt being poured into the grave would crush the casket, thereby killing you.

I can think of scarier. Imagine being in that exact scenario that you just described except you're trapped inthe coffin with a dead Rosie O'Donnell.

the worst way to die would to be wrongly pronounced dead during surgery and carted off to the morgue where the try to find out what went wrong... in the morgue they dont bother being careful they as good as hack at you with an axe... and even worse their are cases of this actually happening.... that my friend would be the worst way to die... being hacked to death but still under the effects of the painkillers and un-able to even scream.

It's true. You would be running as fast as you can and he'd just be plodding along at a normal walking pace but he would somehow magically catch up to you. :o

Well, presumably, the hole is 6 feet deep. The coffin is about a foot or two tall.

What about if you were in the jungle, fell off a tree and became paralyzed from the neck down, and got slowly eaten alive by worms and ants with no way of defending yourself?

being slowly burned alive sounds far more horrifying to me. any heat related death would seem the most painful imo.

Reminds me of the film Serpent And The Rainbow. Me? I'd die of a panick attack b/c of the space around the coffin and the feelin of wantin to get out but I can't.

it'd be scarier if you could breath, because then you'd be stuck in that coffin, unable to see or move around much, and all you could hear was yourslef, and you'd have to wait until you starved to death. now that would suck

IT actualy has happened although today these cases are rare. Ive seen documentaries on this and most documented cases happened around the turn of the last century. They even showed some device that someone came up with which consisted of a bell attached to the coffin and if you found yourself burried you could pull the string, ring the bell and get rescued......dont know if it ever acutaly (saved) anyone.

And about incomplete anesthesia it has been described by patients who say that they were put under but they didnt go to sleep they were just inmobilized and felt the entire procedure although they couldnt move. That could be a real nightmare if your going through a big procedure. imagine its like being tortured for hours only not as messy and you dont get to scream.....ouch

As far as scarry goes i think i could do one better......how about your tied to the ground and smeared with blood or honey and then sprayed with red ants and they release a hungry DOG but the dog has a muzzle that only lets him open his mouth just enough to nibble on you so he cant kill you right away but hes hungry so hes gonna keep going at you till hes full. also one of your arms is attached to IV's so you dont bleed out right away ....cause they want you alive as long as possible. all the time the ants are biting you. and just for spite they squeeze lemon juice on your wounds. Then when your just about to die they intervene and cure your wounds. then they mildly sedate you tie you up and stick you in a coffin with a bunch of very hungry mice and an oxigen tank so that you last at least a couple of hours under ground.
