1. To play video games and hang out with friends. 2. I wanted to do it, my friends did it. I just cursed at them and they stayed up. 3. New Years Eve. That was alone though.

I'm always up at this hour. When I'm desperate, I make some coffee. Anything with high caffeine would work, too. Like most kinds of soda. Just look at the ingredients.

1.) Reason you pulled the all nighter?

2.) How did you get past the breaking point. Everyone knows there is normally a breaking point where your just like I dont care why im staying up I need to sleep.

3.) When was the last time you pulled one?

Hulkness

1. Had to write a ten page research paper. Being the chronic procrastinator I am (despite being a straight A student), I waited until the day before to start.

2. If I didn't finish it I would have failed the paper and dropped a few letter grades in the class. I desperately wanted to receive an A in the class and graduate as Valedictorian.

3. Last year

Note: I've done these a few times and in every instance it has been the result of me waiting until the last day to start an essay.

2) It wasn't too hard. I didn't want to fail the course and not get my Master's degree.

3) April 14th, 2005.

lol that reminds me of last summer when I was working 80 hours a week. After a few 16-hour work days I just wanted to relax and either read or play online video games. So a few times I stayed up all night (I had to go to work at 8 am). Man I was so tired it took all of the strength I had to not fall asleep during my next day of work. I did sleep during my entire 30 min lunch break a few times though lol.

Whoa if the term paper was for your Master's degree it must have been pretty lengthy. How long was it? It must have been a terrible week (you said it was from hell) because you remember the exact date.

1.) Reason you pulled the all nighter?

It was the last month of college and I had to edit my thesis film. We always got too distracted during the day, so at night a few of us would stay up and edit. It was more quiet that way (no first-years around making noise).

2.) How did you get past the breaking point. Everyone knows there is normally a breaking point where your just like I dont care why im staying up I need to sleep.

When we would start to get really tired a few of us would take a drive to McDonalds or a corner store and buy food/Rockstar, Jolt or NOS. Any energy drink, really, except for Redbull because they were too small. One person would always have to stay at the school with a cell phone to open the door for us again. I admit. . . sometimes you'd get to 6 a.m. and couldn't take it anymore. . . that's when you'd wheel 3 office chairs together and sleep on those in/near your cubicle until class started again.

3.) When was the last time you pulled one?

At the very end of the last school year to get a bunch of projects finished. I haven't needed to since then, thankfully. That was enough all-nighters for me to last at least 5 more years :P

  1. I wanted to get a C in highschool environmental science
  2. I didnt hit the breaking point, I worked on my project until 6 in the morning and just stayed up until it was time to go to school (yes, I showered)
  3. The last one I pulled was May 2004, Junior year in highschool. Ive been pretty good about getting my work done in college though.

guitarman89

43 pages, all told. About 10 of those were music examples, which was the real pain in the butt to construct. Lots of photocopying, cutting and pasting. In the end, it was all worth it. I did extremely well on the paper. But yeah, that's not an experience I ever want to repeat.

My breaking point is quite the opposite. Night comes, I become sleepy. But if I overdo it, SNAP! I won't be sleepy anymore...

I pulled many back in high school and usually averaged 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night. I usually continued to stay up simply because I had to get the work done. It's weird how I felt fine after some time period of staying up though lol. I would be craving sleep, but then felt completely fine after like an hour and was ok until I went to school lol. I haven't pulled a true all nighter in quite awhile, probably not since high school.

2. energy drinks, and junk food helps allot lol. i usually end up having a 2-3 hour nap the next day, so i guess i just delay my breaking point
