but he got it from negative actions.

but i guess any publicity is good plubicity.

Yes...that is how the saying goes. But I'd be willing to bet Tiger's fortune that he didn't intend for his affairs to become public.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] It's his choice. Not ours. I'd be happy never to hear from any celebrity. But to get the advertising dollars....he has to be very well liked. His character took a nose dive into the bottomless pit and he's trying to resuscitate it. Don't feel sorry for him. This entire thing has been about his choices.

Pirate700

trust me i dont feel sorry for him.

but i see what your saying.

i dont know why he wants so much money, hes probably already loaded, why more?he probably alreadys have a comfortable life and is secure, what else is there too have?

greed i gues..

Probably loaded? He's worth a billion dollars. The next 10 generations in his family will never have to work a day in their life.

well you know what i meant :P

but see, why would he need more money?

to complete a castle of money?:|

IMO, the John and Kate media owes Tiger an apology for dragging his personal life through the mud this long. All this proves is how shrill and anti-news the media has become. They should apologise to all of us for the rancid pith they deliver on a constant basis.

He messed up big time. He should've bought his wife a big butt ring like Kobe Bryant did, and all would have been forgiven.8)

It is amazing why people care so much about what celebrity couples do yet don't care about what goes on around them. I was with a co-worker at the bar while on a business trip. He harshly critized someone for messing around on their wife then proceeded to hit on this girl at the bar and get her to go back to his room. It would have been fine if he wasn't married himself. My concern over Tiger ended after I asked my wife if she slept with him too. She hasn't so I couldn't care less what Tiger does. I would love to see some normal people go on youtube, local access tv, or even in these forums and do a press conference after they cheated. A company lunch in would be nice as you get free food. Also, if you chose to have slept with him in the past you do not deserve an apology. You are just as guilty as he is and deserve to be just as villified.

I like that term, "the Jon & Kate media"...he didn't owe an apology to anyone outside of his family and he sure as hell didn't need to call a conference to apologize to them.

I think it's about time we forgave him. He's still the best golfer in the world. Sure he should have behaved more professionally but if you had all the money he did I guarantee you'd be tempted to do the same.

Oh God. I'm watching BSPN and you can tell everyone was crying. He's a frickin golfer not the second coming. I can't believe anyone actually felt moved by this like they actually know the guy personally.

Pirate700

And I thought their bashing of the Big Ten and praising of the SEC was bad. This sets new levels for suck. Also I like your name for BSPN.

I can't believe this. Why is he making a public apology for something he did in his personal life, it's got nothing to do with anyone.

It's incredible how much this has been blown out of proportion, the porn star who slept with him is on televsion asking for an apology is just the icing on the cake, it's ridiculous.

Brainkiller05
If the god damn porn star didn't want the attention, she should have kept the affair to herself. Tiger shouldn't have to apologize to any of the woman that complain about the media when they're the ones who practically asked for it....

Im wondering if it was a less known golfer if they would even be allowed back into The PGA

Snakewiseman

NO LAWS WERE BROKEN!!

omg Tiger did not even break one American law, so why wouldn't the PGA let him back? ::facepalm::

How do you accept a 'sincere' apology that's completely self-serving? He could have just summed the whole statement up like this: "I'm deeply sorry... that I got caught..." There. Done. Nothing more to see here, folks...

Because he's a public figure and advertising dollars are tied up in his persona.

Outside of that there was a huge public backlash and many wanted a public apology.. Last I checked people watched him because he played golf, not because he was a upstanding husband or father.. But apparently when something doesn't appear hunky doory in the land of Tiger it becomes a immense issue.. This is not saying I condone what he did, but the fact that people are making such a big deal of it seems ridiculous.. Espeicially when the man wasn't on a crusade for family values or other things like gays, only to find out later on they infact were hypocrits.. Even then people like Tiger get far more heat.. Its pretty ridiculous..

I don't get why we even have to accept anything. I really couldn't care less about what he does nor his totally self serving apology. I don't know him, nothing he does offends me personally. It changes my image of him drastically but I still don't care what he does.

lol are you serious? They interrupted TV to show his apology live? I also don't understand what he's sorry for. It's not like he accidentally had 15+ affairs over the span of several years. That takes deliberate planning to pull off (I can barely juggle 1 woman). It's like a serial killer apologizing when he gets caught after 15 murders. He is basically sorry he got caught...

People will criticise him if he just goes back to golf and doesn't apologise, but they also criticise him for apologising. So really - he can't win. Everyone should just mind their own business and let him carry on with his career. The only people he hurt were his family, and they seem to have forgiven him so, end of story.

I honestly would only have gone after him is if he was the type who preached about family values and criticized others for not having those said values.. But to my knowledge Tiger was pretty soft spoken on anything relating to that stuff.

Yup, sponsors pay him millions of dollars because he can hit a ball in a hole, then all hell breaks loose because turns out he isn't a perfect dude like they presumed he was.

He wants the media attention. Everything he does is for the $$$. He has to get back into the public eye, make a few pathetic fans cry and get his sponsors back.

Pirate700

True, but I highly doubt he will be able to get Accenture back.

Meh. He's still a Nike schill and all-around d-bag in my book. Always has been, even before the SUV joyride. Don't drink the kool-aid, folks.

BTW, who watches golf anyway???? Is that really even a sport? CURLING FTW!!!!!

This is the price of fame. You can't even tip a stripper, cheat or anything without the media blasting you, forcing you to apologize for something even people in the Bible has committed.

Ok. I know that the news interuppts normal broadcasting when someone important makes some speech like perhaps the president or someone of equal importance. Or if the topic in hand is something dire. However.....why would they need to interuppt broadcast...for...tiger woods??? He is just a golfer. I doubt his statement is something everyone HAS to see right now. It seems kinda silly. I wonder if he paid to have it shown live.

Morphic
LOL at you if you think he had to PAY for networks to air that.. He probably could have CHARGED them to get it. That said, the whole thing sucks. I don't even like sports (and Tiger Woods even less), but he doesn't owe anybody an apology outside of his wife (maybe) and the man who had to fix that fire hydrant.

That was one of the worst speeches I've seen in a while and he wussed out by not taking questions. I still don't feel sorry for him.

I thought it wasn't bad but I agree about him not taking questions. Hopefully he'll get back on track like Kobe did with his situation

Yes, but because it has been blown out of proportion, he needed to say something. And do you know how many fans he has? I doubt he just doesn't care about them. He probably did this for his fans and for himself.

I never cared about anything Tiger Woods did before and I still don't. If people "look up to" athletes as role models, well, I have long found that to be mostly silly and naive. Okay, so they are good at a game. That's good for them. I'm glad they enjoy it, but seriously, who ****Ing cares? (A lot of people, apparently...)
