Is Time Travel Possible? What do you think and why?

According to me according to all the stuff I have read on Internet I believe its impossible.

One theory was of travelling faster than speed of light. But if we travel with the speed of light it is due the increase in speed and not time but still there is a theory that if u travel faster than speed of light and then return to earth u will be half aged than your twin brother.I was not fully able to understand the theory. So what do you think?

Traveling back in time seems in possible. And you will be half-aged than your twin brother because time isn't the same on Earth as it is in space or something like that.

Yes but only the speed or velocity will increase or decrease of the thing you are travelling in and not the speed of time. And whats the use if u can travel only to know that u are 5 years old instead of being 10 years old.I think it can only be done by some evil magical powers.Lol.

I hear you can go back in time if your font is big enough.

Actually though, I bet it's possible.....but I don't know how the universe works so I guess I'll just have to wait for someone to figure it out.

If u have watched movies and cartoons there is a concept of travelling back to dinosaurs age or travelling in advanced future and then travelling back to the original time. But the applied theories are related only by the age factor if u understood what I am saying.

I once read a study that traveling forward in time was possible, but would require so much energy it is impossible. Same said study said traveling backwards was impossible.

while it isnt quite time travel, relativity proves that there can be time distortion. The faster you go, the slower everything goes for you and/or the faster time passes by for your slower surroundings. Like for example if you travel close to light speed somewhere then back everyone will be older than you, but you will still be near the same age.(kinda crappy example i guess, but it gets the point through)

I think you can boost your own age somehow but I don't think you can possibly in some tricky way get back in time if something is IMPOSSIBLE it's travelling back in time. Completely waste of research. Most of todays research is useless btw.

Albert Einstein believed that time-travel to the past was indeed possible, but time-travel to the future was not, because the future hasn't happened yet. So, if you were to travel to the past, you would not be able to get back because the future has yet to happen.

I think it is impossible. For if travelling in Past would be possible, then already people from the future would be here. Secondly, speed of light cannot be achieved for it requires infinite amount of energy.

Uh. The issue is that electromagnetic particles move faster than anything else. Thus you can't go faster than these because any other movement is just exploiting these particles.

I've never seen a citation for this but time dilation as predicted under his own theory of relativity and confirmed in his lifetime allows "travel to the future" by moving through time at a greater rate than an observer who has not undergone acceleration. The very fact that the past already has happened is an argument against being able to travel there, since it would render causality a joke. to me, a more compelling argument is, if travel to the past were ever possible, why have no time travellers shown up from the future to conquer us primitive apes, or at least to vacation in the primitive past.

Exactly, time distortion occurs whenever you travel at a velocity. But it only becomes noticeable approaching the speed of light. But time travel..no it can't happen

Everything moves through spacetime at c; movement in space causes some of that velocity through time to be bled into space movement, accounting for mass gain, time dilation and the Lorentz contraction. Under relativity, m for an object in motion is not m but rather set off by the Lorentz-Fitzgerald factor. A pretty good explanation of this is here, but essentially an object with rest mass' relative mass approaches infinity as its velocity approaches c, therefore requiring infinite force to continue to accelerate it.

NONONO. As you approach the speed of light your mass becomes larger and larger until it's infinite and an infinite mass means an infinite amount of energy to accelerate any more so it's not possible to reach light speed

i would say that time travel is remotly possible. but you are gonna need something that can go close to the speed of light

also i believe that time has already been put out for us. and we have done these things millions of times before ( de-ja-vu) so i also believe that einstein's theory was incorrect because of the whole de-ja-vu thing .

time travel to the past: impossible future: possible but only by a few years

then again im a 13 yr old so dont take my word for it

Time travel towards future is possible, if you could travel fast enough if you believe in the theory of relativity. However, going back in time is impossible. It would cause a huge time/space chaos. Imagine the Back to the Future scenario, but with no possibility of changing it, and with chaos every time being bigger just for the fact of being there standing.

I believe that it is not possible to Time Travel.

I do however, believe that if we do travel faster than than time itself then we are time traveling.

Think about it.

How many seconds will it take to go 4000 Miles at 1200 MPH? If you can somehow go fast enough to go 4000 Miles in a speed so extorinary that you will be there in negative seconds than that is time traveling.

Three things confuse me.

1.If there is a man A.He comes from the future to meet his childhood A in the past.So when the past A will grow up he will repeat what adult A has done.He will go the past and meet his childhood A.Then again that past A will grow up and repeat the ending sequence. Can u justify this?

2.How can travelling faster slow the time?If a man travels 100 Km in 1 day and a spaceship travels 1000000 Km in 1 day.The time taken is equal only the speed is greater in the spaceship and has travelled a larger distance?

3.If beleive that Twin Paradox theory also then also we can't get back to the past to say that we look like that or we saw this in the future. So wats the use?It only matters with aging.

In popular science they said if you warped space time into a loop, you could travel backward through time but only up until the ship you're flying in was built or it would come apart.

Hello we are not god that we can travel from here to there in 0 seconds.Time will be consume whether it will be milliseconds or microseconds. It can't be negative.
