Dinner and a movie is fine for the first date. I dont think you have to be too aggressive at that time. It's usually just a chance to learn a little about the other person and see if you like them.

Okay, well I met this girl a good 6 months ago and we got on quite well. I added her on facebook and we haven't talked much since.

Last week we started talking on facebook, and it's been almost non-stop since. We are going out on a date on Thursday night. We are going to an Italian resturaunt in my local town, followed possibly by movies (I know, not very original) and then maybe going to a place near where I used to live.

I ask the people of OT if there are any suggestions or tips you can give me, as my history is shocking when it comes to dates. What have you done to win a girl over? Also, she's the local MP's daughter, so I do want to impress her. Thanks

What an unexpected response... Point out the part when I said act like a douche. I pretty much just said be fun, funny and confident. This is not good advice for a one-night stand, because if they are half-decent they will see something there and want more (relationship) when all you want is sex. If you just want sex, you have to be more direct. Girls will tell you they want a nice guy that opens doors for them but they are telling you that because you are already friendzoned and they want you to find a beta girl to be happy with.

Don't try to go to far at first, or at the middle. If you want to mkae any sort of moves, like kissing her or holding her hand, wait for the end, and only if you guys really got on well.

I always say to wait for the second date though to start that stuff.

Jsut don't screw up man! :

• Be chivalrous. Chicks REALLY dig that kinda thing.
• Be genuine. It's always a bad idea to put up some sort of front.
• Be funny. If you can make a girl laugh then you're good as gold.
• Be sweet. Compliment her in a nice way, as opposed to a "I just want to get in your pants" sorta way.
• Be confident. If you don't think it's going to go well then it'll be easy to sense that and other insecurities. This doesn't mean to be cocky.
• Show an interest in her. This means to listen and ask questions when appropriate.

I'm hardly some dating expert, but those are the sorta things I'd like to see in a guy, and what would make a date with him stand out in comparison to others.
