have fun! violins are awesome and all but they don't beat violas. i think its great though that you aren't playing the same thing everyone else is, especially guitars, they are overrated imo.

I wholeheartedly agree.
It's one of the things I had wished to do when I was younger, but I was too impressionable as something like this would be considered either "uncool" or w/e. Hell I wish I had done gymastics and maybe even ballet when I was younger. Why you ask? Add martial arts into the mix, and you'll have the perfectly trained warrior, who's other arts only serve to increase his combat capabilities in the disguise of simple art and dance.

violin is an extremely difficult instrument to learn. Your arm will be very sore and tired while u play because of holding it the correct position but you'll get used to it. gl

Anyways Guitar is so boring, SO MANY people play it there's practically no way to stand out from the crowd.
You wanna know what gets real chicks? Saxaphone, girls (especially 20+) go wild over that :wink:
Tried the sax. I was pretty good but I hate the band teacher here at my new school and that's another reason I took guitar. Like I said, I was good with the bass clarinet. Why shouldn't I take ac lassto pick up chicks? I had a free elective
I can see how you can be excited about buying a new one if your current one is crap. That's how I felt about 4 or so years ago when I bought my current one. But I wasn't that excited about it.
And about it being hard to learn, it's hard making quick progress, is all. It takes years to reach a decent level and even then you sound like crap compared to professionals. It's what keeps me going, that hope.

Ahh, I see. Well then good luck starting on it... it's going to require a good commitment if you want to get far in it. And believe me, having a someone teach you how to play works wonders, so if it's an option, get an experienced player to help you out.
