The TV series always looked like poorly written cliche garbage, so I'd personally be happy to see it pulled off the air.

Must have never watched it; there were criticisms that could be leveled against it, but cliche is definitely not one of themThe TV series always looked like poorly written cliche garbage, so I'd personally be happy to see it pulled off the air.

If the series does get a third season then that was one hell of a cliffhanger with revelations and questions answered that came out of left field in a good way. If it doesn't get picked up for a third season then that was one of the best series enders. Yes, Garbage gal was quite awesome.
There was never a John Connor once he had gone forward in time, which is why his father Kyle was still around. The events of the first two movies then no longer happened because John Connor wasn't a resistance leader, terminators weren't sent back to kill him, and Kyle Reese never went back to protect Sarah. There was no second John, I think you mistook Kyle for John. And Shirley Manson was AWESOME in this episode
xaos
no, i know that guy was Kyle Reese, but i was trying to figure out how Sarah Connor Chronicles leads into Terminator 3.
In no way; Terminator 3 is ignored by the series, as well as by the upcoming movieno, i know that guy was Kyle Reese, but i was trying to figure out how Sarah Connor Chronicles leads into Terminator 3.

Me and my friends used to argue about which show was better: Terminator or Heroes. We did this because they shared a similar time slot (or they did at one point... I think?). I prefer Heroes but that show is such garbage nowadays. Its a shame that nobody watches Terminator because I heard its supposed to be really awesome.

That's true to a point. The series creators sort of backed away from saying that their series doesn't tie-in with any of the films and the upcoming sequels. They use the time-tested sci-fi plot mechanic of divergent timelines. The series creators looks at the TSCC as one of the many different timelines in the Terminator Universe. The season (series?) finale created a new one with its cliffhanger ending.

if thats true then thats just stupid, adding confusion to a good story. I read that TSCC was just gonna show how Sarah was preparing John for Judgement Day, with the series ending with Sarah dieing and John the way he is for T3

It's actually quite clever in trying to explain all the weird time-travel paradox question that comes up. The one true timeline is the one that happened before Kyle Reese traveled back in time in the first film. John Connor's dad prior to Kyle Reese traveling back was unknown and Judgement Day happened on the date it was suppose to. Once Skynet made the decision to send a T-800 back in time to kill off Sarah Connor the timeline split to a new one which comprised the entirety of the first film. So, pretty much everytime Skynet sent something back in time and John Connor did the same it screwed with the timeline and created new ones.
It's easier to keep track of the different storylines from the three released films, the series and the upcoming sequel than trying to explain everything as if it was one continuous timeline.

Wrong.
The series had the issue of sarah having cancer on it a lot, and she actually having it, which was a t3 storyline.
T4, terminator salvation, has the chracters and the storyline confinued from T3.

John Connor and the Claire Danes character are all that are being moved from T3 to T4; a set visit from January confirms this, to wit: "McG's film (hoped to be the first part of a new trilogy) will draw primarily from the first two films, ignoring much continuity from 2003's Rise of the Machines and all of Fox's Terminator TV show, The Sarah Connor Chronicles."In no way; Terminator 3 is ignored by the series, as well as by the upcoming movie

Fact is that it follows the movie series and not the tv series. Thats how it has been all along.
It should have never made it past the pilot. One of the worst series to ever make it to a 2nd season.
It got a dead time slot because interest was low. People wouldnt have watched it in larger numbers regardless of when it was on.
It failed because it was substandard and for no other reason.
I've never seen it but I've been following it's God awful ratings. It started out with around 17 million for its pilot episode and the last episode that aired on Friday night only got 3.5 million. :?Aquat1cF1sh
Which is a real shame, because every single episode in season 2 is a million times better than the pilot or any of the episodes from season 1.
if there was one series i wish didnt end, it was Surface T_T i wanted to know what happened after the world was underwater

It failed because it couldn't attract viewers. It wasn't substandard at all.
All my favorite shows either get cancelled or struggle greatly to get renewed every season they are on the air. Either i like bad tv, or the shows i watch are just too good to be appreciated by the dumb masses. I perfer to think its the later. Terminator; The Sarah Conner Chronicals...you will be missed.
Since Glitchspot refuses to let me use spoiler tags (curse you HTML error!) I'm just going to post the spoilers in gray text below. :x
The finale really, really annoyed me. All the loose plot threads were either not addressed or just cut off entirely, and the time jump seemed like a cheap way to revive characters.
Although, it was pretty poignant when Sarah refused to warp with John. Despite my antipathy towards the episode, I think that has to be my favorite moment of the show.

That was my feeling after seeing the terrible pilot episode as well. Fortunately, a friend whose opinion I trust told me to go back to it as the second season was much better than the first, and he was right.
Substandard, hah! As far as production values go, this is one of the best sci-fi shows on network since Trek's heyday. Not only does it have the Terminator license, but it has seasoned actors like Lena Hadley and Brian Austin Green and special effects that are among the best on TV right now. It used to be explosions like on TSCC and liquid metal effects were possible only with a Hollywood budget and a good effects studio, and Terminator's part of an evolution that's bringing those types of effects to TV. If you want to call the plot or the dialogue into question, fine, but calling it substandard implies it's somehow below the constant for TV, and seeing as how great writing is not really a mainstay of American television you sort of have to judge a comment like that based on production values i.e. are they putting forth a complete product that matches the quality that people have come to expect out of the genre. Something like that is more easily judged by constant standards, and yes TSCC does do that. Name other network shows that have similar production values: Heroes, maybe CSI (wouldn't know, never watched it). If it were a substandard product it probably never would have made it onto TV in the first place.

Umm, the quote I posted said explicitly that T4 was completely ignoring the continuity of the TV series so I'm not sure why you felt the need to point that out. As to honoring T3, you may know the movie better than the director (with McG I consider that a very real possibility), but I am not willing to gainsay the director without seeing the movie myself. :)Thank God. Skynet should send a Terminator back in time to terminate the producer of that show. :x
Seriously man, he's ****ing done professionally.
Meh its Fox, its like their nature to cancel shows left and right, was a decent show while it lasted.
Spoilersanyone care to explain the ending to me?
spoilers:
so are there two johns in the future, 1 old 1 young? what the h*ll was going on with Shirley's character, is she rebelling against Skynet? what was Cromarty (sp) doing going to the future? was Summer's future character human or robot?
end spoiler

No Kyle hasn't gone back and conceived John with Sarah so no only one John right now. She is a Terminator the T-1001 I believe ,and yes she wants to destroy Skynet. Not Cromartie that was John Henry he is Cromarties body ,but Weaver is making him as the ultimate weapon against Skynet. And finally Cameron is not actually Cameron that is Allison Young the resistance fighter that she took her form. Allison was captured, tortured ,and killed. I believe that the plot is setup for a 3rd season and the cast seems confident about having a third season. I can't wait to see what happens.
yeah for 4 weeks and then it's over too. They decided to cancel that so i'm sure they're canceling Terminator. Even McG said that in a interview at a comic con. The interview is on youtube somewhere, but I dont have the time to go look for it now.
i've only seen parts of the show, but i tried to give it a chance because summer glau and lena headey are in it. but WHY does lena headey have the same facial expression through out the whole show?? she was so good in 300 :( wat happened??BlitzzAttackNo boobs, that's what happened.
Edit: but maybe I'm wrong, haven't watched the show only a few episodes.
