nobody likes Tool first time they listen to it.... guys who hate Tool really should listen again you goona love it after a while
[QUOTE="pxr242"][QUOTE="MrPenguinKing"]Such a bold claim, considering you probably haven't stuff from some of the great bands of the world, mainly stuff from the US which is where I assume you live.:|

Listening to music from 60's 70's 80's 90's, all the time, I can honestly say, Tool is the most unique since pink floyd. I like english bands like muse, don't get me wrong, but tool is the best
Way to read my post man!
Are you really going to argue with someone's personal choice for favorite band? If the guy likes Tool, then let him like Tool. There's no scientific way of determining the best band in the world. It's just personal opinion. Don't let it russle your jimmies.I like them a lot and they was awesome live. I think Lateralus is their best.APiranhaAteMyVaYeah, that's my favorite of their songs. Vicarious is pretty good as well.

I love their music but they are the worst band live. ever
dominer
Can you give us details or a video?
Maynard stood behind the drum set and never left that spot the entire show. No crowd interaction. No deviation from what the recorded songs sounded like.
May as well just went to the amphitheater and listened to CDs
Didn't bother recording it
Band is pretty good,
If you guys want to watch a really awesome 3 hour long podcast with the main singer Maynard Keenan then go check out the Joe Rogan experience,

He actually goes into detail why he has very weird antics on stage during his Joe Rogan interview, For example hes very epileptic so thats the reason he turned his back to the audience for an entire show because they wouldnt stop flashing cameras even when he asked them.[QUOTE="NailedGR"][QUOTE="dominer"]

Well Maynard doesn't like to attract all the attention on him which he has stated in interviews. There is nothing wrong with no crowd interaction, some people like hearing the music as closest to the album as possible.[QUOTE="pxr242"][QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"] heres a bunch: lamb of god, trivium, unearth, children of bodom, gojira, all that remains, pantera, damage plan, megadeath, slayer, and metallica.LoG-Sacrament
wow. Slayer and megad are not better than Tool rofl.
go listen to alexi's(from children of bodom) guitar solos. they dominate anything that tool has released. same with trivium(check out their drummer too) and all that remains. nobody can say that anybody on tool is more talented than dimebag from pantera and damage plan. and dave mustane from megadeath is very talented as well. lamb of god has better timing, coordination, and song lyrics than tool. and even the thought that the vocalist from tool is better than randy blythe is just stupid. they arent the best because i like them. i like them because they are best. Most of what you are saying appears to be subjective. Out of all the bands listed exactly how many don't use 4/4 time structures for every song?[QUOTE="Hexum-311"][QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"]there are much better bands out there. LoG-SacramentName one that has the talent that Tool has. Sure this is someone's opinion, but I do question whoever prefers quantity over quality. Nickelback can play guitar solos, does that make them rock gods?

Of course not.
And Nickelback play solos? i've never heard a single Nickelback song with a solo.
Then again i've only heard those obnoxious singles from when i go to my mom's house, she loves them.

I accidentally heard Bottoms Up and they performed a fairly decent guitar solo... Thats the only praise I'm giving Nickelback, and I use the term "praise" loosely

Nickelback has strength.I'm not denying they can't play their own instruments.. Then again, so can Justin Bieber, Jonas Bros, etc.

Dear lord your comparing a lot of straight up thrash metalcore(2 of which LOG and Trivium are well past their prime) to what could be considered one of the most experiemental and musically talented groups of the past 20 years i could give you Gojira but thats bout it.
Pantera and tool are two of my biggest influences.
Bodoms past their prime aswell.
Tool isnt, tool dissapears and reappears and strangely one of the very few bands have put out loads of amazing albums.
Also, to the people saying that King Crimson was a huge influence on Tool, here's something interesting (part of an interview with Robert Fripp):
"You recently did a mini tour with Tool. What, if anything, do you feel King Crimson has in common with their music?
The Crimson tour with Tool is one of the two most enjoyable tours Ive ever done. The first was with G3 in 1997. I happen to be a Tool fan. The members of Tool have been generous enough to suggest that Crimson has been an influence on them. [Tool guitarist] Adam Jones asked me if I could detect it in their music, and I said I couldnt. I can detect more Tool influence in King Crimson, than I can hear King Crimson in Tool."
