This is not a list of who is better than who, I just want to see who everyone likes, so lemme see what your 10 favorite albums are.

I have never heard of Black Moon and seeing how I love all the other albums on your list I am going to peep him.
All opinions aside, I think if you're making a list of top 10 best hip-hop albums, Illmatic MUST be on there. If we're talking top 10 favorite, sure you can put whatever you want on there, but top 10 best is a different list as far as I'm concerned. I don't have a list though cuz mine would change a lot and I'd be too indecisive. Regarding your list, I respect all your choices, although The Minstrel Show was an odd choice. It's a pretty good album, but The Listening > Minstrel Show imo.TheHimuraI would probably feel like that too about The Listening if I had heard it first, but I found out about LB after The Minstrel show lol.

Illmatic is terribly overrated imo. It's like the Master of Puppets of rap...

Enta da Stage is an amazing album, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for something similar to that album afterwards, check out "Nocturnal" by Heltah Skeltah, one of my personal favorite hip-hop records. They're both produced by Da Beatminerz, who make dope grimy east coast beats as you'll soon hear. :)edit: correction, only about half of the beats on "Nocturnal" are from Beatminerz, but all the beats are great.

I've heard that a lot but I don't see it... that album basically got me into rap music single-handedly, and it still blows me away now. I understand where you're coming from though. You guys have good taste, good to know gamespotters know what's up when it comes to music, I can't think of my top ten list right now but hey, you guys have some good stuff here.
Yeah, it's really sick, I really like the atmosphere on that album.....You are on the right track! Endtroducing got me into Trip-hop so hard, that album is incrediable.

[QUOTE="Crimtmp"]Yeah, it's really sick, I really like the atmosphere on that album.....Did you know that it won a world record for being the first album to be entirely composed of samples? Makes it even SICKER hahaYou are on the right track! Endtroducing got me into Trip-hop so hard, that album is incrediable.

As well as the lack of Outkast, Goodie Mob, or any 8ball and MJG. Seriously, no real love for good southern hip hop except Cunninglynguists. The lack of Public Enemy in this thread is disturbing.

Relax guys, make a list if you want those artists in there. For the record, "ATLiens" is one of my favorite rap albums... classic in every way :)The lack of Public Enemy in this thread is disturbing.

Add this into the list somewhere: Masters of the Universetaj7575Amen to that... "Honest Expression" is my jam. That's why I lurk about in there, too many opinions converging and the chaos ensues.
I don't really want to start a list, as it would take me forever to decide. I will however, throw this out there.
That album was just so chill.
I hate picking favorites because there are so many. These are my best choices right now though. I may be more of a rock fan but I can appreciate rap.
1. Saul Williams- Amethyst rock star
2. MF grimm- MFgrimm & MF Doom
3. Quarashi- Guerilla disco
4. Why?- Alopecia
5. Aesop rock- None shall pass
6. Atmosphere- God loves ugly
7. Main source- Breaking atoms
8. Dan the automator- Dr. Octagonecologyst
9. Pharcyde- Bizarre ride II the pharcyde
10. Company flow- Funcrusher plus
The lack of Lupe Fiasco's the cool is disturbing.Marth6781lupe doesnt belong anywhere near a top 10 album list
Lord Willin - Clipse. Started the coke rap phase. Clipse is such an underated duo man that album is unreal. Good lists by everyone but serious no Raekwon?
[QUOTE="spliffstar12"][QUOTE="Marth6781"]The lack of Lupe Fiasco's the cool is disturbing.Marth6781lupe doesnt belong anywhere near a top 10 album list Yeah, you're right... he goes beyond a top 10 list. The cool is better than half the albums people have listed. it wasnt better then a single album posted here except soulja boy which was posted as a joke and i guess you can make an arguement that its better then god loves ugly and none shall pass
The Cool murdered Food and Liquor. Food and Liquor was generic "I am this" "this is what I do" hip-hop. The Cool expanded on a song and made concepts left for interpretation. His lyrics came way harder, beats synchronized with the atmospheres of his songs, and his flow was unrivaled by any of his other works.Food N Liquor was a good album but The Cool was nowhere on par with it.
