10. You vigorously deny the existence of God, yet you frequently blame Him for all the "evils" in the world, all the natural disasters, and everything else under the sun that is wrong in modern society.

Whoever the hell does something stupid like that is just a hypocrite... I've never seen any Atheist being angry God. I think that's called an emo.

9. You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when creationists say that people were created in the image and likeness of God, but you have no problem with the evolutionist claim that we all evolved from slime by a cosmic accident.

I don't feel insulted... I just don't believe it... the slime thing is just science and nature taking course over thousands (millions?) of years >_>

8. You criticize fundamental Christians who believe the Bible, and say that it can't possibly be true because it's just a book written by mere men, yet you never question any of Darwin's writings or Richard Dawkins' books.

We don't make up an entire faith off of a book. We, like Dawkins, express our ideas through books...

7. You can't seem to understand the primary differences between fundamental Muslims and fundamental Christians (hint: strap-on TNT. Plus - Muhammad says, "kill innocent people and yourself if you love me." Jesus Christ said, "I'll die for you because I love you").

... How is this relevant at all to being an Atheist?

6. You say the Bible is full of fairytales and fables, yet you believe all life forms including plants, trees, insects, birds, fish, reptiles and mammals evolved from one species into another - As if evolution isn't the biggest fairytale of them all.

Turning a staff into a snake, forming a sea into blood, turning water into wine, dying and ressurecting, and having supernatural powers like being in two places at once is a fairytale. Science isn't a fable at all.

5. You laugh at the Supernatural, even though scientists have calculated the odds of life forming by natural processes to be estimated less than 1 chance in 10 to the 40,ooo power – But you find nothing wrong with believing that billions of years full of random mutations would result in the impossible.

... Source?

4. You accuse fundamental Christians of being intolerant, judgmental and hateful, while you foam at the mouth calling them freaking lunatics, ignorant, weak-minded, stupid fundies, and hateful bigots.

Not all of us are like that... I am an Atheist but I keep my morals and attitude straight. We also just like to defend our beliefs.

3. You ignore scientific concepts like cause and effect, and you don't realize that a closed system can be defined however the observer wants, so you throw out technological phrases to try to ignore the implications of thermodynamics by saying the laws of physics are not set in stone.

We don't try to side step stuff and pretend like it isn't there...? Most religions do that; most of them have a fool-proof plan to keep the faithful faithful, and deny several historical/scientific instances.

2. While all evidence, logic and reasoning point to a Creator and absolute truth, you prefer to hide behind relativism and a theory of evolution which does not, in fact, describe the creation of the universe at all, or why concepts of good and evil or morality exist.

All evidence, logic, and reasoning pointing to a Creator is ENTIRELY an opinion. To me, it is the exact opposite. Good and evil and morality exist because we have brains

1. Atheism fails to adequately explain the existence of eternal, unchanging truths, for it rejects the existence of an eternal unchanging mind. Atheism cannot offer man any eternal significance whatsoever. Temporary meaning in life is insufficient, for our accomplishments die with the death of the universe -- there is no ultimate purpose in a universe void of God.

A truth is a truth... Which by logic can never be changed if it is the truth, even if there were a Creator... Or else it wouldn't be the truth. Who said we needed a purpose? We are born, we live to our fullest, and we die.

It's actually quite an interesting, ill-thought, hilariously biased article that gives Christians a bad name. I strongly advise it!

Buddhism is atheist. Fail.

Aw hell no. Just because Buddhist don't believe in one all powerful central figure doesn't mean their Atheists.

Call that whatever you want, they certainly do not believe in anything that's remotely similar to the Judeo-Christian God, and I think they have a more defined sense of meaning than Judeo-Christian faiths.

I already know, and have known, I am an athiest. But, I believe in the supernatural, spirits and such because I have been directly invovled with the paranormal thing.

i'm going to play neutral, but numbers 2,3, and 5 are the most common statements in conflict when a uneducated atheist rants. in the end most athiests, and fundys of any religion are somewhat ignorant.

[Edit]: btw whoever created this thread did not intend for it to be a joke, claiming a wall of text is a joke leans toward some hint of denial.

This is awesome, an obvious joke. But in the christian thread all the atheists were like so true. Now they are all pissed off. Hahaha, I lol'd after reading both topics and seeing how people responded.

Flop. An athiest wouldn't deny the existence of god, and then blame things on him. Whoever does that is a hypocrite, not an atheist.Etheral_Filcher

You'd be suprised how many actually do that. Either that or they use the bad things in the world as evidence against his existence, which is just as stupid.

10. And what's wrong with that? It's just like fundamentalist Christians blaming atheists for everything wrong in society. Blame whoever you want for whatever you want. Free speech is a right everyone has.

9. Considering the lack of evidence to support literal Creationism in the Bible, I can see why they could feel that way from a materialist perspective.

8. Don't generalize. You are only representing a small portion of the entire atheist population. Not everyone is a fundamentalist.

7. Again, don't generalize. Not everyone is an uneducated idiot.

6. Evolution has facts to supports its claims. Empirical evidence that proves these things actually happened. There is no evidence to suggest that any of the myths in the Bible took place as literally as they are depicted.

5. A typical creationist argument. Pull a statistic out of your ass and claim that some scientist came up with it. Genius. Proves everything about evolution is wrong. Good work, now claim your Noble Prize.

4. All fundamentalists are intolerant, judgemental and hateful. Calling someone out for being something that is detrimental to the progress of a free society is not doing the same thing.

3. Cause and effect is not a scientific concept, it is a philosophical concept. There are solid scientific theories that support that there are things that can happen without a cause (some vacuum fluctuations or something).

2. Wow, up until now I had thought your arguments were only uneducated, now I see the real reason to why you are saying the things you are. Ignorance. You are claiming that science should in some way have the ability to disprove things that exist outside the realm of empiricism, which it cannot and since we only exist within the realm of empiricism you cannot have any evidence to support these claims of yours.

Logic, reasoning and evidence are the last three words you should use to describe faith in the supernatural.

1. Human beings are not eternal. Only memories can be eternal (whether they be stored by other humans or externally within books, pictures or computers). The physical body does not continue to exist after it has perished (aside from the matter that once used to make it up). The human mind is only a single part of the human body and once the body stops functioning, so does the brain. There is no evidence to suggest otherwise.

I may only be an apatheist but some of these claims of your's TC are absolutely absurd.

1. Without an ultimate purpose imposed by God, humanity's ultimate purpose becomes pushing our capabilities, understanding the infinite well of knowledge that is the Universe, using that knowledge to understand our own creation, the creation of the universe, and furthering humankind as a whole. All this instead of aiming to get into some magical wonderland where you get to shake God's hand and sit in the clouds while the next generation does what you could have done during your lifetime instead of wasting your time with the nonsense that is religion.

Win.
