Because your list is generic and predictable, and more importantly a waste of time.

So basically the songs some men/women around 35-54 listen to and a minor audience of young folks because they heard it religiously when they were young and now they believe that they love it because it was paved in their brain for all those years?

What the hell are you talking about? 'All Eyez On Me' was a great album, 'California Love' and 'How do U Want It' are great songs. And even though its not on 'All Eyez On Me', 'Black Cotton' was a good song too.

 ...it's the same general genre....and you list multiple songs by some of the bands.

To be fair, the list is called "Top 100 Greatest ROCK Songs". You surely weren't expecting to see Madonna, kenny G or CunninLynguists on the list, were you?

Well, this is LJ we are dealing with........ he might have been.

I remember you now. You're that dude who thinks he's a fan of 2pac but hasn't heard any of his albums.

What the hell are you talking about? 'All Eyez On Me' was a great album, 'California Love' and 'How do U Want It' are great songs. And even though its not on 'All Eyez On Me', 'Black Cotton' was a good song too.

My apologies, you know arguably his most well known album and a handful of songs. Big fan, no doubt.

Well, I should clear up that I am 14 :) And what is it with you guys and this "You are such a dad-rocker, therefore, screw you!"? Can you not even see any of the 80s and 90s music in there?

Not judging it. I'm questioning it, at least as far as 2pac.

Blog it, i dont understand what gives you the opinionated authority to say that your list is good. Its your opinion and you have the ability to share it with whoever and thats through a blog. Zero discussion has come out of this, nor does it even pose a question...

He put a lot of effort into the thread (a lot more than most of the topics), this thread is a lot better than a lot of the other threads.

I agree he did put in a lot of effort with this, and we should respect that.

No but I'd expect someone to pay attention to music OTHER than what the mainstream radio plays but I guess that is way beyond you.....

I don't really care.

People are allowed to make the same bullsh!t religious/political/girl help threads and nobody says anything. Why should this be any different?

I don't know about that. A top whatever list is always a good topic for discussion. You don't even have to add an opening statement to debate, because the list itself is enough of a basis for conversation, and therefore enough of a basis for a thread.

And, in general, entertainment (and here specifically, music) is a divisive topic that brings about sometimes heated exchanges, as we can see in any of Kevlar's threads.
