1. Monster: The absolute best anime I've ever seen. The story is very original and unpredictable. It's got a very interesting mystery, at the end of each episode, you always want to watch more. It's amazing that it's 74 episodes long, and manages to stay interesting from the first episode to the last.
2. Fullmetal Alchemist: Great combination of entertaining battles, interesting story and good character development. It's 50 something episodes long and manages to be great from the first episode to the last. (Just like Monster.)
3. Samurai Champloo: Great fight scenes, great soundtrack.
4. Eden of the East
5. Cowboy Bebop
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Death Note
Black Lagoon
1st season of Pokemon
Full Metal Alchemist
... that's really the only anime I've watched through completely.
Thats actually my list for about all the animes I ever watched
Movies
TV Series/OVAs
[QUOTE="gamefree2"]A decent top 5 (well minus Angel Beats!) AND a Touhou related sig? You and I would get along just fine. ... Angel Beats! was great, it could have been better if it was longer and we could see everyone's past but it was still a great show1. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
2. Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion
4. Durarara!!

Angel Beats! was great, it could have been better if it was longer and we could see everyone's past but it was still a great show That's the main beef I had with AB, it was too short and had little-to-no information about most of the characters. In all honesty Otonashi was the only one we learned much about. Even Kanade and Yurippe we learned only a little about, and we never even found out how Yurippe died, and of course there was a host of side characters we learned nothing about. Show should have been a lot better than it was. I was disappointed.1. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

I would never put it anywhere in a top anything list. Maybe a top 50 but that's it.1. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

[QUOTE="shakmaster13"]To almost everyone in this thread, Full Metal Alchemist original anime>brotherhood. Deal with it.conistantBrotherhood >>>FMA original.Deal with it. Great argument you got there, replacing my words. Brotherhood sucked because of the crappy pacing, the little insight it offered into Alfons and Edward's past, etc. Brotherhood was inferior in every way. The original anime improved on the manga while brotherhood tried to stick closer to that crap.

Ed and Al were among the worst characters in that anime. Brotherhood was far better than FMA because it dealt more with other characters besides Ed and Al (in particular, characters like Roy Mustang and Risa Hawkeye).
Plus, the filler ending of FMA (w/Dante) was completely forgettable.
1). Mugen noRyvius
2).Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi
3). Ef ~ A Tale of Melodies
4). Monster
5). Berserk

This sums it up! This is the best list here!
No, quite a few people don't like it. It's one of those things that gets pumped up way too much by everyone else and for some its a let down, others go as nuts about as those originally praising it and others are indifferent.Am I the only one who didn't like Cowboy Bebop? O_O

What you expect me to type all the crap they pulled out for original anime. The pacing for brotherhood was decent and it is agreed universally that the manga story>>>original anime story.

I watched it after I got told it was the best anime ever, so maybe I was expecting too much.
I watched Darker Than Black without even being told about it, and found it much more enjoyable. Shame the second series kinda sucked.

The second series wasn't THAT bad. Watching Suo grow as a contractor was pretty coolWelcome to the NHK

I though I was the only one who mentioned this anime. It is so good ~!
I'm not big into anime, and I don't think complicated plot points or love triangles make a good anime (I know animefreaks like this), so mine are sorta mainstream and generic.
5 BoBoBo (and so on...) - Just random and funny.
4 Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - A very interesting and simple story, plus it's shorter than the original because it stuck to the manga storyline.
3 Tenchi Muyo - The storyline never made much sense, but the characters were colorful and very diverse.
2 Dragonball - I always enjoyed the classic epic "Journey to the West", and this reimagining was funny as hell and very strange.
1 DragonBall Z - Just take the characters from Dragonball and make them fight... ALL THE TIME. It is what cemented me into thinking that ll you needed to have a great anime were interesting characters, some well timed jokes, and amazing animation and pacing. Haters may be out there, but their opinions do not affect the fact this is the most succesful anime series in history. (GT does suck though)
1. Clannad (Both seasons)
2. One Piece
3. Bakemonogatari (Season 2 just started.)
4. Full Metal Alchemist
5. Dragon Ball
