at the top of my head, Peter Weir, Client Eastwood, Kathryn Bigelow, Stephen Spielberg, Michael Mann. I have many other favourites beside these directors, but Peter Weir will always top my list. so glad that his new film is coming out soon~~ :D

Kubrick is current?

Yes that was rather a silly mistake. I was going to say "Current Interests" as I've been going back over his films lately, but then I decided to change it and sort of mashed the two things I was trying to list. I'm not good at lists as I'm not fond of making them as you see.

I would recommend Memories of Murder and Mother as they are both exceedingly good films.

And why do foreign directors get more credit simply because they're...foreign? I've seen mother is and it's just a mediocre movie.[QUOTE="Lord_Daemon"][QUOTE="SuperSaiyanLink"]

Actually half of the directors I mention happen to be American or British. I just like who I like regardless of where they came from.
This list is not based on my favourite movies of theirs that they made but their general contribution to film and their style that I prefer.
Other worthwhile mentions: Kurosawa (although I need to watch more that just two films of his), Herzog, Aronofsky, David Fincher, Danny Boyle, Nolan, Tarrantino and Spielberg.
