1st you should define the word Sport, then see if anything you just mentioned still doesn't fit into the sport category
dittoWhat about Chess and darts.
I don't agree on golf. This is actually not exhausting or what so ever, but you need extreme concentration and loads of practice.

Darts has ever right to be a sport, i bet you have no ideal how much time and practice it takes to get to the professional level.
How about tiddle winks, isn't that in the Olympics now?
5. GOLF: It takes skill to golf but it is not a sport. Any sport where the fans can't make any noise is not a sport. When a pitcher has a no-hitter going in the 9th inning, do the fans have to be quiet? Absolutely not. So why should fans of golf have to be quiet when something is happening on the course. Golf is like chess, it's a game of skill but it is not a sport. RUNNER UP: THE SPELLING BEE: The reason this wasn't number 1 on my list was because no one outside of ESPN even considers it a sport. I'm completely clueless why the spelling bee is on ESPN. I'm even more clueless why they show highlights of the competition on SportsCenter. A bunch of little weird freak kids competing to achieve their parents failed dreams is not a sport.-MlKE-
Ok, as a golfer, I have to disagree with you...sort of, anyway. Golf is very much a sport, depending on how you play. If you're a good player (i.e. the ball goes where you want), and you ride a cart, it's not a sport. That's an afternoon liesure activity. If' you're a good player who walks, or a bad player who rides a cart, it's a little more vigorous. If you're a bad player who walks, it is DEFINITELY a sport. If you consider cross-country hiking, swimming, climbing and trail-blazing sports, then the bad golfer is the ULTIMATE athelete!
And those poor spelling B kids...leave them alone. They have enough problems.
If it doesn't have a ball, its not a sportSo what would you classify hockey as? This is a terrible list, sorry.
1. Hockey - a puck is not a ball2. Boxing - No Ball3. MMA - No Ball4. Swimming - No Ball5. Wrestling - No Ball
See the pattern?InterpolWilco

Well, Golf requires waaaaay more practice then darts does.
Maybe counter-strike should be at the olympics.Brainkiller05
maybe you should be set on fire, lolzord
People comptete agaisnt each other in all of those. They're sports.

Is that what you define a sport as?

As you should be for saying that:?Completely disagree with autoracing. Here's the definition of a sport according to Encarta: 'an individual or group competitive activity involving physical exertion or skill, governed by rules, and sometimes engaged in professionally'. It's a sport because it's physically demanding. You try driving a car at 250 km/h for an hour and a half in a suit with a temperature of 40 degrees Celcius and tell me if that isn't a sport...(Talking about F1 there).
That also takes golf off that list and possibly poker. I agree with horse racing, but I never heard of cheer leading ever been classified as a sport.
[QUOTE="fepepinar"]Its alot more sport like than Soccer...American football shouldn't be considered a sport.

Awright, let's get it on. Even though I'm not MYSELF such a 'soccer' fan, everyone around me is, and I get dragged into the whole carnival it is.
So, tell me, why is american football more sport-like than football?
Yep I have to agree with all of those.
All funny too in a George Carlin-esque kind of way.
A real sport involves running or moving with great physical exertion and a ball or apparatus like a puck. Baseball Football Soccer Hockey(moving fast on skates) Basketball Volleyball all actual sports.
Many other things are very cool and or very fun to do, but shouldn't be considered sports.
Golf would be a sport if the players wore padding and battled each other with their clubs between holes.

Its not, just like American football isnt any less a sport than Soccer. From now on though, when you make a stupid comment, be perpared to ge a stupid awnser...
People are trying to find out who is the best at a certian event, so it is a sport. Chess is a sport if you are competing aganist others. Why must you be running and sweating for it to be a sport? Also, they do have cheerleading competitions, so it is also a sport. Skill + competition = sport.
