Fake enthusiasm $uck$.

Why don't TV networks realize that people don't follow your show just because you put young people in it. (Here's lookin' at you "Effin Science"). Simply yelling "Wooooooo!!11!!" or "Yeaaaaaaahhhh!!!111!!" or "Awesome" every five seconds does not hide the fact that you don't have anything of consequence to say. It only higlights it.

Also, blowing things up does not make your show good either  (Yeah, I'm talking to you Smash Lab!)

Now look at Top Gear or Mythbusters. You have people on these shows who know how to hold a conversation and actually pepper the episodes with witty and funny comments. They don't have to rely on empty excamations to distract the audienceand maskthe sheer insipidity of their show. What do you guys think?

I f***ing love Top Gear. And I used to love Mythbusters, but it sucks now. Seems more like an educational show for 12-year-olds instead of Adam and Jamie just having fun.

Nah i think they had too many accidents of people falling over and the insurance company stepped in, still great fun though especially the mask one in the sig of mrmusicman :P If that isn't plain fun then nothing is.

Palantas recently decided to watch Mythbusters, and I got the first six seasons. I'm loving it. Usually, I hate reality TV, because as you note, thread creator, the enthusiasm is so forced and unrealistic. So, I agree. :)

Its not much about cars though, it used to be classed as a motoring show but when Jeremy stepped in to revive the show they changed it to Entertainment so they don't even need to have a single car in it if they chose to.

I actually just started watching Top Gear last year. I didn't understand what all the hub bub was about so I checked it out. Ignorance is NOT bliss, my friend. Not bliss at all.

Can't say I watch Top Gear, but from what I have seen of Mythbusters they seem to be mostly nerds getting to do nerdy things and they love doing those things. Who wouldn't be enthusiastic about getting to have their own tv show doing the things they love?

Yeah Top Gear is awesome, even when it's totally fake (such as the Evo vs. British army with live rounds) it's still fun to watch.

I love Mythbusters! Its one of my favorite shows. Most TV to me is so fake and stupid. Mythbusters is one of the few shows that restores my faith in decent TV. I can't comment on Top Gear, I never saw that show, but I'll take your word for it TC :P

I love Mythbusters, when I can watch it

Top Gear is pretty cool, but I am not much into cars. If they made a Top Gear-equivelent that was about 4-wheeling, well, then I'd be totally up for that

MythBusters has gone downhill in the last couple of seasons partly due to the fact they seem to be running out of good myths to test. I remember back in the first couple seasons they would due 3 or 4 myths per episode but now every episode they only due 2 per episode, that being said its still a good show.

And for anyone bashing MythBusters "I reject your reality and substitute my own."

I still like Mythbusters but it has become hard to watch all the way through on some episodes. They keep switching back between myths every segment which isn't that bad at all. But when they do that they have to explain everything over again. I also used to like it when they just said what myth they were going to do now they have to do some skit before they announce it. I also remember one episode where Tori was explaining before hand what some contraption was going to do and how they set it up, and then it cuts to them on the test site and either Tori or Kari was saying the exact same thing again but actually showing it.

I love Mythbusters, some of the episodes are fantastic, have you guys seen the one where they tested the Bullet Theory? That according to the laws of physics, a bullet dropped and fired at the smae height should land in the same amount of time.

And Zeyam, Look on the internet, you will be able to find sites that have those shows on there site(s).

I've been watching Top Gear for as long as I can remember, living in England makes it easier to watch most episodes because they're always on. I don't think I've ever laughed so much for a show.

Mythbusters was better 3-4 years ago when Tory and Kari had obvious sexual tension (completely one sided coming from Tory). The awkwardness was amusing. Mythbusters is still the best scientific disection show by far.
