The little part about the mice being Satans soldiers and being steered by him..is a bit stupid. They are just mice. Maybe the whole hygine thing is correct but making mice to be some evil, devil inspired entity is rediculous...and then calling for the murder of people who like mice is lunacy.

Who called for the murder of people who like mice?

So wait, you're telling me you don't believe mice are part of Satan's conspiracy, setting fire to houses?

The Arabic language is a very complex language. When you translate it, the words of the Quran will not have the same meaning to it.

It's like writing a whole essay in english and translating it by going to www.freetranslation.com and handing it into a teacher.

If you have a slave, Islam tells you to give them the same food you eat, the same cloths you wear and to treat them like you treat yourself. Back in the day the Slaves would never want to go free from their masters, because then the slave has to take care of himself. A slave in Islam is not the same Slave in other cultures.

Slaves in Muhammad's time were foreigners, prisoners of war sold to people, and generally just a low rung on the social ladder. He did not approve of the slavery that Europeans are used to hearing about.

You don't need proof from the Quran to see that rape and prostitution is not allowed...

Proof?

Under Islam, a slave can be raped, prostituted, beaten, murdered, bred, married off, you name it. You sound very much like the Southerners who would say "no slave here wants to be set free! They're treated well and they love their station!"

It's all just rationalisation of slavery, which is disgusting.

No it certainly is not. It's like going to a language expert who is also an expert on the topic you are writing about and getting a translation from them. The Qur'an and Sunnah are translated by top scholars and are checked and rechecked for translation errors.

If there is a mistake in the translation, please bring it forward and we'll discuss the specific case. But it is completely false that you need to know Arabic to understand Islam, and that is something many Muslims angrily point out, seeing as most Muslims do not speak Arabic. In fact, even when you read the Qur'an in Arabic, you are reading a translation. MSA (Modern Standard Arabic) is not the same as CIassical Arabic. You are reading a translation.

And I do not know the relevance of any of this. The Sheikh speaks Arabic and was speaking in Arabic. If he's not being mistranslated, than neither are the texts. And he reads the Qur'an and Sunnah in Arabic anyway, so if things are "mistranslated" to English as you claim, then it is you and not he who suffers for it.

You can't just yell "mistranslation!" when scholars use verses you don't like or haven't heard before. You must show where there was a mistranslation, or else you can't assume there is one.

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ISLAM??

"When the slave of anyone amongst you prepares food for him and he serves him after having sat close to (and undergoing the hardship of) heat and smoke,he should make him (the slave) sit along with him and make him eat (along with him), and if the food seems to run short, then he should spare some portion for him (from his own share)- (another narrator) Dawud said:" i. e. a morsel or two". 4097. (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Oaths (Kitab Al-Aiman), Book 015, Number 4096)"

If a Muslim beats his slave or slaps him on the face, then he must set him free:

"Zadhan reported that Ibn Umar called his slave and he found the marks (of beating) upon his back. He said to him: I have caused you pain. He said: No. But he (Ibn Umar) said: You are free. He then took hold of something from the earth and said: There is no reward for me even to the weight equal to it. I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:He who beats a slave without cognizable offence of his orslaps him, then expiation for it is that he should set him free.(Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Oaths (Kitab Al-Aiman), Book 015, Number 4079)"

Here is a couple of examples, the others are in the Quran, read it if you want first hand proof...

The Prophet forbade hitting anyone on the face, be it wife, slave, or animal. Beating is otherwise permitted.

In the old arabic language there are words that when you translate it(correctly)
it will still have a different meaning.

Rules of beating:

- cant hit the face

- cant make a bruise

- cant do bodily harm

- cant hit sensitive parts

- cant make him bleed

The first is true. I don't know where you get the rest.
