[QUOTE="Dargiboo"]I didn't say anywhere that you had to like the song. Low has good lyrics and a good beat in my opinion. You just have a different taste in music.A_Tarkovsky

I checked the lyrics, and they were below-average. Maybe I missed a verse.

Below average in your opinion. There are AT LEAST 470,000 people that disagree. That's how many bought Low in the first week it was out, setting an iTunes all-time record.

Meet the Spartans is also number one at the box office.

Because it looked funny, and had good previews. Box office for movies is much different than song sales.

First of all, it didn't look funny at all. Second of all, those previews were terrible. Finally, it's not as different as you think. Why do you think Brett Ratner makes more money than Bela Tarr in spite of his inferiority as an artist?

whether they bought it for a good beat or good lyrics that still means they like it, one way or another.

EDIT: I'm going to stop argueing because it seems like nobody is ever going to understand that no matter what you or I say it's only one opinion. Maybe I am wrong. I couldn't care less because I like it and so do a lot of other people. Good debate you guys, have a nice day.

Meanwhile, There Will be Blood is still having a hard time getting into theatres. There is one theatre within 100km of me with it. It's in toronto, obviously, but everywhere else seems to be getting that shaft. While Meet the Spartans and that new horror movie...is it "untraceable"?That came in too. It's a joyousoccasion. I had to wait weeks for Juno to come in. There will Be Blood hasn't been in yet.

Yet which, on metacritic, have better ratings?

Proof that people go to the movies for a cheap laugh and for time-wasting material like explosions that they'll forget within 25 minutes. It seems it's like that for music now. In 5 years, will anyone who bought that 'Low" song ever fess up to liking it, or will still be listening to it? Will anyone remember it?

If I sing on to of a Johannes brahms composition, and people are all 'OMG it's amazing, I LOVE the piano work!" it doesn't mean I'm any goo. I didn't make Brahms' work. I sang on top of it.

Hey, it's not like you aren't allowed to like the artist. I'm just trying to give my reasons why i'm not a big fan. I mean, it's not like I haven't had people rippping me a new one over liking Death From Above 1979.

Despite me saying I won't debate here I go: As a result you will get credit. I agree, it doesn't mean you're any good. I'm going to say that we don't have enough tracks from him yet though to judge him. Wait for Mail on Sunday...

EDIT: Now continue posting your favorite songs.

Absolutely. Bar None, that's the most exquisite avant-garde hip-hop masterpiece I've witnessed in my life. We are truly blessed.

Hard to say... Modest Mouse's "Fly Trapped in a Jar" is a big one, but then there's Manson's "Heart Shaped Glasses" Heck both of those albums are epic.
