*ahem* Physically challenged... but yeah, being poltically correct doesn't really exist in a comedian's job desciption. Anyway, after what Gilbert Gottfried said, it makes Morgan's jokes seem pretty trivial.
Unlike his gay rant that has a strong message of hate,
his jokes about the crippled are hardly outside the boundries of what you heard from other comedians. If the ARC organization is granted an apology, then every comedian should make a public apology for every racist, sexist and ignorant joke they've made about every community, ever.
Performing at a New York comedy club on Saturday, Morgan told his audience not to "mess with women who have ******ed kids" because "them young re****** males is strong … they're strong like chimps." Morgan also talked about hooking up with a "cripple" with a prosthetic arm. The crowd reportedly responded with groans and "uh-oh."

I think it's less who made the jokes and who he was quote/unquote "insulting" and more the fact that... it bombed. Similar jokes have been made on national TV no less and there's been no major reaction. Why? Because it was funny! People laughed! Laughter heals all. If Imus were an actually capable comedian and had said his statements in front of a crowd that laughed at his statements, then his whole situation would've been null.

That has nothing to do with it. He's free to joke about whoever the hell he wants to joke about, but people are also free to complain about it.
He DOESN'T have to apologize for it. But depending on how severe the backlash is, he might want to consider apologizing if he wants to keep his career.
