I've noticed alot of people bashing this movie for many reasons... lack of story, ghetto robots, etc. Personally, I don't anyone should go to a movie like this and expect to be blown away by the acting or the story. It's clearly not trying to be an "Oscar worthy" film... it's entertainment plain and simple. One guy on YouTube said "as a Michael Bay movie its perfect." "But as a movie movie, it's terrible!" WTF.

BTW... I thought is was great. I do like the first one a little more though.

What is with the excuse that it isn't to be taken serious?

Its a movie and it will be judged the same as any other movie.

The story was pretty meh. There were a lot of strange inconsistencies that made the plot pretty meaningless. All of the "comedy" was just NOT funny.

It's not an excuse. Do you think people will go into this movie thinking "I hope this is as good as Shawshank Redemption or Gran Turino?" Those movies would completely fail without the story... movies like Transformers don't rely on story, they rely on CGI and hot chicks.

Once again, the movie left open a few holes which they didn't fill. Fallen's broadcast was seen all over the world, yet they didn't go into anything more than that scene, even the little ones after the movie ended.

Everyone expected a movie that will win best picture or already hated the first movie.

C'mon though: I bet Bruno doesn't have a story and it doesn't even have any robot fights or explosions. I'd still see Transformers.

Typical summer blockbuster, yet slightly worse than many. Lack of in depth plot, characterization, motives, etc. Acting was sub par at most, with Fox and the obnoxious mother the most noticeable culprits. CGI attempts to make up for lack of sturdy plot, and even that seems too much. Overall, it was at best, a terrible summer blockbuster.

If this film would have been based on the Transformers, I think it would've been great. But Michael Bay said in a few interviews that Transformers is about 'a boy journey to becoming a man.' I'm serious, that's what he bases these movies on, not the giant robots who should be the main characters. TF2 is a horrible movie.

and that is why I don't like it. I gues a coherent and consistent plot is just asking too much.

Ah but thats the point within the actions of this film it could easily bring both Hot Rod and Unicron in to the 3rd film if needed.

Me personally I loved it I will admit i do love a good narrative however lets face it if you when in expecting a film which could rival the godfather then you should have saved your money. It's all about the flash looking cars, massive robot's death matches and loads of explosions. There for it made the perfect turn brain off film.

A lot of the people that you saw express their hate for it were expecting some kind of deep story and acting

Like the other poster said, the people that went in expecting robots blowing the **** out of each other and awesomeness, which Transformers is all about, were satisfied.

I was satisfied:)

Bad jokes, megan fox and cool robot on robot action to distract the audience from it's lack of good storytelling.

first half was pretty good then the second half epic failed. At one point in the movie, one of the characters says, "summarize and condense the plot now" -.-.

Another scene was when they were in egyptiian ruins and all of a sudden they got flashlights out of nowhere. Wtf? None of them were carrying any bags either.

Anyone who views those two robots as representative of "racism" has racial tendencies themselves.

I thought the movie was enjoyable. Good? Not really. Bad? Hardly. It was entertaining, and purely dumb, mindless fun. If you went to see it expecting a semi-decent plot or a script with depth then you saw it for all the wrong reasons. Ending conflict wasn't that great either, kind of a letdown.

I loved the first one and the second one was great too. I never expected deep stories with these movies. I just wanted to see some huge robots kicking ass. And I love how Optimus Prime was alot tougher in this one. He was so weak at the end of the first movie. Megatron was beating the hell out of him like it wasnt nothing. The forest fight was my favorite scene out of the whole movie.

Saying it's a cheap film I did not mean low-budget. But the fact it has a cheap story, cheap character development and cheap acting - it just feels like a cheap shot at making money for Michael Bay and his crew.

So people should be mindless drones and only go see movies that critics praise? What if,you know they dont care about reviews and just want to be entertained? And great job of being so bias and calling out the US.smh That statement failed on so many levels.

Actually, he did have a point. For example, the terrible Batman and Robin actually made a $100 million profit, though I do love how Warner Bros. looked past that and decided to end the Batman franchise until 2005.

I dont know it just seemed he acted like some people cant enjoy a movie that has bad ratings. I mean critics get paid to tell their OPINION about films. If somebody wants to go see a movie that got panned by critics I dont see how thats a big deal. And Im sure other countries have movies that people flock to even though it has probably gotten bad reviews from critics.
