Tropic Thunder...

Am I the only one that thought Tropic Thunder was terribly horrible? It was so incredibly stupid. There was maybe one or 2 funny scenes in the entire thing. Other than those parts I thought it was so bad. I dont understand how anybody can find it funny. The whole Simple Jack thing was not funny at all, Tom Cruise was not funny, the whole little kid running the Asian refugee camp wasnt funny, everything was just "stupid". It was like idiot humor. Only scenes I found funny was when Matthew Mchaunaghy (however the hell you spell it) was getting all worked up over the TiVo.

It seems like everybody else thinks its hillarious though...and I dont get it. Am I the only one? :?

i saw it, i thought it was pretty funny. i watched 2 movies in two weeks, the other being step brothers, and Tropic Thunder is waayy better than Step Brothers.lonewolf604

Pineapple Express in my opinion was just a movie where the director said, here act like your high for 2 hours, yay comedic gold!!!

I didn't laugh hard at all in that movie, probably cause jokes about getting high get old after 5 minutes

Anyone who found this excuse for a movie funny needs to be shot.

I enjoyed it and thought many parts were hilarious.

Of course I can't repeat those parts or I'd get banned... especially Tom Cruise's parts.

You mean the the parts where Tom Cruise was screaming about shoving dicks and balls into certain places? How is that funny? Its like talking to a 13 year old on xbox live...and his dancing wasnt funny, it was dumb...I just didnt get this movie...

well it seems a lot of you havnt seen it and are only making assumptions based on critics and previews...after you see the movie come back to this thread and let us know...because I really dont understand how anybody can think its hillarious...half of the jokes werent funny

im finding it hard to believe that you cant come to the conclusion that other people have there own opinions ;) to you, bad, to me, great, a perfect parody adn comedy, dumb? yes at time, but also really smart, like I said, if you think its only "dumb" humor, then you dont get where it was coming from.

And some of the humor was actually very high brow-the parodizing of the acting community in general was amazing (I especially loved the line about insecurity when that one guy was sobbing and asking "WHO AM I!?!?!"), as was the commentary on "based on a true story" things brought about by the [spoiler] fact that the author of the book was a trash man. [/spoiler]

I have no idea what u r talking about. This is easily one of the best movies this year so far. I loved it all. I was laughing constantly.

There hasnt been a comedy where I was continually laughing like this in a long time.

So many funny parts that I'm gonna be refrencing from now on.

It was alright. I thought it got pretty over the top by the end but it was still pretty good.

I admit though the beginning of Tropic Thunder was amazing. I don't remember laughing that hard in a long time.

Yeah, Pineapple Express was hilarious to me. A lot of people were saying it was just okay, and one of those movies where the jokes were "haha, that was funny.... only not really.".... but I ended up loving it :lol:

I think it depends on who you're with and what mood you're in on how funny a movie can be.
