Even a President (elect) is entitled to is own opinion. Flag Burning has already been ruled on and protected so his opinion(s) will not change a thing and for as wrong of an act as it is, it should be protected.
I don't care. When you are going to be PRESIDENT of the US you should uphold American rights and freedoms. Not whine about them. Though I think he does this so no pays attention to what the ass is actually doing.
On one hand you support free speech (flag burning) yet on the other hand you do not support free speech (Trump's opinions). Either you support protected free speech or you don't. Which is it?
I have to ask again because I do not believe I received an answer when asked a while back: Were you one of the PA guys who was practically guaranteeing a Trump loss in the state?
I don't have to support his dumb ass opinions and if you read correctly you'd see that I said a president elect should uphold the rights and freedoms and not whine about them. I didn't say he should be thrown in jail for doing it. I really wish you'd read posts before whining that someone is picking on trump.
Of course you do not have to support his opinions but your own words prove you want him to remain silent and that is quite different then merely disagreeing with his opinion. I understand why you guys are salty though and it is not only because he has an opinion contrary to yours.
So let's get this clear..."wanting" him to remain silent somehow means that people don't support his right to say what he wants?
Well, by that logic, I hope you've never "wanted" to have sex with anyone. By your own logic, that would mean that you don't support people's right to deny consenting to having sex with you.
What you're saying right now is actually disturbing as hell. If we took your argument to its logical conclusion, then the mere fact that you want anything from anyone means that you think they don't have a right to have a choice in the matter. And I know that you know that's not how it works. I mean, if you want a job, then I should hope you realize that simply wanting a job doesn't entail believing that your prospective employer doesn't have the right to deny hiring you. If this kind of stuff doesn't work that way for you, then why the hell would you think it works like that for anyone else?
Yes, people often "want" other people to stop saying stupid shit. That's often the entire point of criticizing people when they say stupid shit. If you didn't "want" them to stop saying that stuff, then there wouldn't be any reason to criticize them for saying it. That's just how criticism works, but that has NEVER automatically meant that someone doesn't support the other person's RIGHT to do what they want.
This isn't "splitting hairs" here, you're just utterly wrong about this. I mean, just so wrong that it's frankly even shocking that you're saying this. You certainly "want" plenty of things and yet still support peoples' right to not give it to you, so how in the bloody hell can you turn around and say that people are against free speech just because they "want" Trump to stop saying stupid shit?
