Yeah, there's an important part you're missing - any toxic chemical has a certain level at which it becomes significantly harmful. For example, apple seeds contain cyanide, but you're not going to be harmed if you ingest one.
GabuEx
Well one thing I do find shocking is that our drinking water contains dihydrogen monoxide, which is the same compound that is found in most industrial-grade solvents.
Also ingestion of it can cause the brain to swell which can result in seizures, coma or death.[QUOTE="PannicAtack"]

Doesn't that make you question why they would put it in drinking water to start with?

It's also the reason why I stay away from diet drinks, Aspartame is something you don't want to mess with.
Respect!

Do you trust the CDC? Wolls is right, fluoride has health benefits as long as it's in the proper amounts.

[QUOTE="sgotskillz"]Uhm no, still wrong. Not paranoid at all, just a truth seeker. I always have a smile on my face.
Lets see where the word government comes from -
Latin meaning
govern - gubernatio= control, direction, command, leadership
ment= mind

...That's the prefix ment-, as seen in words like "mental". Which is wholly and entirely different from the suffix -ment, as seen in words like "development", which, again, just turns a verb into a noun.
Does "development" mean "the creation of a mind", or something like that?

I'm not talking about the suffix. Do you know what the definition of Etymology is?
Etymology is the study of the history of words, their origins, and how their form and meaning have changed over time
If you read the links provided the Latin etymology of ment = mind

This. There is no scientific evidence that supports the fluoride mind control/toxin conspiracy theories.
The fact that most people in the US and many other countries have been drinking fluoridated water for over half a century now seems like it would render this conspiracy moot.

I mean it seems more than a little disturbing that our drinking water would contain something found in industrial-grade solvents.
Wait, you just drink bottled water? thats horrible for the earth. shouldn't you get a water filter or something.Fluoride is a toxic poison
Try putting those words in a search engine.
There are 2 kinds of fluoride that go in drinking water. Calcium & Sodium fluoride.
What is the one and only ingredient in rat poison? Sodium fluoride.
Fluoride comes from limestone deposits, it is also a industrial waste-product from the pollution scrubbers of the phosphate fertilizer industry.
Fluoride is more toxic than lead!
As documented in the Journal of Dental Research (Whitford 1987, 1990), there is enough fluoride in a tube of flavored children's toothpaste to kill an average-weighing child under the age of 9.
They even tell you on the side of the toothpaste tube to "contact a poison control center immediately" if you swallow your toothpaste.
The first hit on the front page of google is this website -
http://www.lovethetruth.com/truth_about_fluoride.htm
Only 1 month ago a news article was aired on Australia's Popular and mainstream Channel 7, at prime time 6:30pm
The Truth About Fluoride Hits Mainstream Television in Australia
"The truth about fluoride and its toxicity levels are rarely publicized on the mainstream media. After all, how would the public react if they learned they were being deliberately poisoned by their own governments? However, a local news broadcast in Melbourne, Australia has done just that, exposing the realities of what fluoride really does to the human body".

They say it was a social experiment from 40 years ago. However in fact it was first used as an experiment in the nazi concentration camps to sterilize inmates and make them docile.

That's why I only ever drink bottled water period and use fluoride free toothpaste where you can buy it at health food shops or in the health food isle in your supermarket. Kind of tells you something if it's in the health food section right?

I'm not sure if they're "etymologies" that you're constructing there. :P
When you have a suffix in a word, you can't just remove it from the word, apply the definition for it when used as a prefix, and expect to get a meaningful result out the end.

*GASP* but dihydrogen monoxide is made up of 1 oxygen atom and 2 hydrogens, and we can't breathe hydrogen! :o
Wait, you just drink bottled water? thats horrible for the earth. shouldn't you get a water filter or something. iginlawasup
The bottle water I buy comes from a local spring where the recharge basin captures ground water.
Not all filters remove fluoride. You can buy water filters such as reverse osmosis that do but they require a large amount of electricity to run.

If you are really concerned about flouride in your water and want to stop drinking it there are filter systems that will remove it. Look up Berkey water purifier, I have a one here at my house and it's easily one of the best things I own. They make an attachment that pulls flouride out of the water in addition to tons of other pollutants that ARE in your water. This filter is good enough that you can easily go fill it with runoff water or pond/creek/lake water and be totally safe drinking it!

Note about that last part, unless it uses UV rays or another similar technique, it is not safe to drink from pond or lake water.

Did you read the breakdown of percentages of pathogenic removal, it's in the link I provided? I can safely say that yes, it will be safe to drink.

Well you seem to have more experience with this sort of thing; what would you say is the best way to lobby for the removal of dihydrogen monoxide from our drinking water?
I was an active member on Australian Truth movement forum spreading awareness to our local communities. It was great for about a year then guess what? They shut down the forum. (must be a conspiracy..lol) I've never started a lobby before or done much research into dihydrogen monoxide however what we are doing right now by stimulating conversations on a high traffic forum is very effective.
If you have any other ideas sent me a PM and I'll see if I can help.
Packed up my fluoride invested toothpaste . Going to take it to the dump where it belongs . Wonder if thier is a way to set up tubes so I can turn on my faucets and send the water to Those Responsible till they stop. Thank you for the info.dave123321
If at least one person thinks twice about their health, job done IMO.
