I think Nick Diaz has a great shot at defeating GSP, Diaz is clearly the better striker and the guy has an inexhaustable gas tank.
His BJJ is also solid, but his wrestling is suspect. The onlyway i see GSP winning is if he does his patented "Lay N' Pray" technique.
Seriously GSP fights have been sooooooo boring lately, he is a judges fighter not a peoples champ like Diaz and Silva and a few others[QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"]seriously, why did okami not try more takedowns? the whole reason i was worried about silva losing was that i figured okami could take him down and not get submitted. i mean, you want to keep him honest with some strikes, but i think everybody would agree that ground and pound is the best chance to beat silva. or even if you dont agree, boxing certainly is certainly not the best chance (especially for okami).ChuteboxBecause Okami couldn't even get near him. If you go for a take down at the distance they were at, bad things will happen to you. i know its monday morning quarterbacking, but theres a point (right before okami ran into a speeding bus twice in a row :P ) where silva drops his hands and waits for a punch to counter. i figure thats the time to do anything but punch :P the two knockdowns (or at least the second, but im pretty sure he fell for the same thing twice) were in close anyway.
GSP is fighting Nick Diaz... the Strikeforce champion who is on a 10 fight win streak. And before this fight, he fought Jake Shields, the Strikeforce MIDDLEWEIGHT champion who vacated his title to come to the UFC, who destroyed Dan Henderson (who just destroyed Fedor), Okami, Condit, etc, and was on a 15 fight win streak not having lost since 2005... but GSP is taking easy fights? Let's take a look at GSP's fights since he won back the championship: Jon Fitch, BJ Penn, Thiago Alves, Dan Hardy, Josh Koscheck, Jake Shields and now Nick Diaz. The only "easy" fight there is Hardy. Anderson fought Patrick Cote in his past 7 fights... so they're even. BMD004BJ Penn?? a lightweight that could probably make featherweight. Thiago Alves that just lost to rick story?? josh koscheck? the guy that got KTFO'd by paulo thiago who isnt even top 10?? and also lost to thiago alves. Jake shields?? he outstruck the most one dimensional fighter in the welterweight division?? great job there. Ill give you jon fitch. but nick diaz' 10 fight win streak with ZERO top 10 wins?? yeah a MASSIVE THREAT right there. THIS IS THE TOUGHEST FIGHT OF MY CAREER!!!
