UK vs. US *Music Edition*

It terms of modern music or musicians still circulating, Canada has them both beat I honestly find that Canada has some of the most diverse and talented music artists out there..we have our share of pop stars but we have just as many popular and famous genuine rock artists, punk artists, indie artist..etc Nickelback and Celine Dion aside I think I make a valid point.HybridPhoenix

My favourite bands are both from US and UK... But I'd gladly choose UK

I chose the UK but the stuff I like from there was heavily influenced by American Blues and I LOVE the Blues so it can go either way for me.

UK:Muse, Placebo, Joy Division, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys

Since I'm an American I'll stick up for my country.

However, it must be mentioned that the UK has produced some of the finest groups on the globe, namely Pink Floyd.

And Canada broke the door off of the hinges with Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

Most of my favourite bands are from the UK. America makes some damn fine music, but the UK is my choice.

That is a very tough question. The best Progressive rock comes from the UK for the most part so I think the UK is better to me overall. Then again Frank Zappa is American so that makes this even tougher to answer since Frank Zappa is my favorite musician ever. Overall I would say UK for Pink Floyd, Genesis, Porcupine tree, King Crimson, Jethro tull, and many other awesome prog rock bands. The UK also had Britpop which is one of my favorite music sub genres of the 90's with great bands like Blur, Mansun, Belle and Sebastian, Pulp, and The Auteurs.

The majority of the bands I prefer are from the UK, so I'll go with that.
