[QUOTE="Pffrbt"]I would say Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Thief and the Cobbler are underrated. MrGeezer
No way is Roger Rabbit underrated. I'm not even saying that it's bad, I actually think it's great. But the thing is, pretty much everyone else thinks it's great too. Definitely not underrated.

In comparison to most other animated classics I hardly ever see it mentioned. It doesn't even have a Blu-Ray release yet last time I checked.

Animal Farm. It's supposed to be a good movie, but even still was vastly better than I was expecting.

The Plague Dogs: Possibly the most relentlessly bleak and profoundly miserable movie you will find in the 'kid' section.

Bartok the Magnificent: The only Don Bluth spinoff actually directed by Bluth, and possibly the only dtv spinoff that's superior to the movie that spawned it.

Beowulf. Not entirely successful, but some very memorable scenes and impressive set pieces.

Cats don't Dance: very overlooked and well made effort from the director of the Emporor's New Groove.

Hey Good Lookin': One of Bakshi's more interesting and better efforts. I rate it after Fritz, Heavy Traffic, American Pop, but more coherent than Coonskin and his Fantasy films.

Agreed and it had one of my favorite scores too. Zemeckis' best animated movie which isn't saying much in context but this was way better than all the other ones.

The Emperor's New Groove. It might be my favourite Disney movie of all time. The animation isn't as compelling as some older Disney films or even some newer ones like Princess and the Frog, but it has an amazing cast of characters and humour.

True, but I'm one of those people that spin mixed stuff like that into the live action category. I was mainly talking about his stint outside of his strengths.

Beowulf is primarily motion capture though. Why don't you consider that live action?

Batman: The Mask of Phantasm

It got stellar reviews but it didn't do well in theaters. Incredible film though.

Never really knew how popular it truly was, but one film I enjoyed but never really hear about is Titan AE. Fantastic animation, great sci-fi setting and pretty darn enjoyable all around film.

The Plague Dogs has been mentioned, but it's a really amazing (though immensely depressing) movie.

Felidae is a really bizarre one, but pretty cool. Definitely not for kids, but it's not a Fritz the Cat type of "adult" movie. It's just dark and surprisingly gory.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Sword of the Stranger is a pretty good samurai styled movie. It's got an amazing soundtrack, and super smooth animations. Plus, the fight scenes aren't -too- ridiculous. (It's anime style, so there's still those crazy moves at times.) Here's a trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iI31EKaLZE

Saw that one years ago when I was younger one of my Fav Batman Movies. Seen The Dark Knight Returns Animated movies that came out reccently ? I wouldn't consider them the same level as Mask Of The Phantasm but still pretty decent.

Secret of NIMH isn't underrated it's just old. They basically sell it at every other grocery store I go to for $5 new, they wouldn't be selling it if it wasn't selling.
