I foresee Obama slaughtering McCain in this poll.
Don't take this as a good representation of the real American population, though. We tend to be a little more "intellectually liberated" here, in other words most Americans are gripped by fear and blind allegiance, so McCain may have an edge in the real election.
how about neither?
you should have that on there
none of them have proven they got the goods to be a good president...campaigning is one thing actually being there is a whole different story

I don't think we are smart, I said "intellectualy liberated." The people here don't seem to be so easily worked up and scared into voting Republican like most Americans are.I'm scared Obama will abort all the babies
I'm scared he is a terrorist
I'm scared homosexuals will corrupt our youth
etc...
I can't vote, but if I could, I'd vote for McCain.
I don't even like McCain all that much, but I like him better than Obama.
I'm so ready for this damn election to be over.
Since this forum is mostly tennagers to college students, they'll most likely vote decomcrat.
Mine will have to go to McCain though.

"Intellectually liberated?" Funny, I would have used the term sycophant but whatever. Bring on the censorship!
[QUOTE="bungie93"]Obama because he will bring change, hope, and unity.

im glad you came to your senses.
Nah, I'm just making fun of how brainless most Obama supporters are. It's almost impossible to become a liberal if you are a conservative. We have too much common sense and respect for the constitution ;)

Brainless?...*sigh*
I will not give into your baiting, although I really want to. Just know this: the constition should not be the republican claim to fame. It is a guideline for how this country should be run, and it is an incredibly flexible one at that. God forbid we break out of our comfort zone and see that republican theories are NOT WORKING. Bush should have told us this, but NO, americans voted for him again. Now, if John McCain wins the election, Americans will truly know just how bad things can get. Republican party ftw, kill kill kill those terrorists!

Ignoring that remark about the Constitution being "Flexible." I'm curious, which republican theories specifically are not working?Brainless?...

I am going with Obama, because he will bring change. I could use some. I have some laundry that needs to be done.

How about the war in Iraq? Sounds like a war we can easily win, doesn't it McCain?.... Uh oh, that didn't turn out so well!
How about that oil addiction? Mr. Cheney, is that good for America too? Of course it is.... oh, wait, no it isn't. but who cares, He's making money while our soldiers are dying.
This is just to name a few.

What are you talking about? The subprime mortgage crises was caused by a series of laws enacted in the nineties (By a democratic congress) that practically forced banks to go around giving out shady loans. It was then BOLSTERED by the creation of GSEs that were corrupt and only legitimatized by an unspoken guarantee that the federal government would bail out the secondary mortgage market when the whole system came crashing down. Deregulation?! What deregulated law or laws specifically are you talking about? I do not think you understand the subject.
The war in Iraq? The situation in Iraq is starting to stabilize and even if it wasn't, I can hardly see how you can call that a republican theory since the democratic controlled congress has supported it for the last two years.
That last statement is just mindless rhetoric. Not too surprising really.

If the gov had kept closer watch on the lenders then this mess could have been aleviated, and Bush and his party held the presidency, and pushed for the war. Iraq is stabilized after HOW MUCH money has been spent? A financial balck hole with no possble benefits to America or even it's interests. To say that Bush/Cheney Oil interests did not keep this country down is bullocks, and you know it. Other countries have made significant gains in the fields of alternative fuels and fuel-efficient vehicles, while Americans struggle in that regard. Why? Vested oil interests.
Our school system is dying now, money is managed so horribly that I child with a sharpie could do a better job. Poor leadership by the republican party has left this country a shell of it's former self, and to imagine 4 more years of those people in power is not only sickening, but demonstrates just how foolish Americans can be at times.
And do not insult me, treat me with the same curtesy I extended to you. :)

Simple math why is it so hard to understand. But if you don't agree lets ask Economist what they think about Obama and McCain
Source economist.com
Academic economist agree with Obama's economic policies than McCain by 80%(Obama) to 20%(McCain).
Just so to make things clear these are Economist not random people in the street. They study and teach the economy in Universities and Colleges.
Another thing to considered. Of the 44% that identified themselves as independent. More than 75% of them prefered Obama's economic policies.

No, if the government had not enacted laws requiring banks to make high risk loans and created GSE's that magnified that risk, then this whole mess would not have happened. The crises had noting to do with "Deregulation" That doesn't even make sense. If it did, I would expect you to be able to show examples of how that contributed to the mortgage crises. All you did was repeat a line from an Obama speech. We need to regulate more? Regulation is what got us in this mess.
It is not my intention to insult you, but you can see how watching a man prove on a daily basis that he lacks the understanding of a major political issue and then watching his fans lap it up like a cat to a saucer of milk can be a bit irritating.
As for the war in Iraq, I'm not going to pontificate on the pros and cons of its prosecution or the advantages of a stable region in the middle east. That is a different argument. What I will say is this: If the war in Iraq is, as you say, republican theory then why didn't congress put a stop to it. They have been supporting it for the last two years.
What significant gains have other countries made that we have not? Where are we struggling? There is a huge push in this country to convert to more efficient energy production but it is not as simple as flipping a switch. There is no demonstrable conspiracy to stimy energy production. So yeah, that "Cheney bad! rabble! rabble!" IS rhetoric and is nonsensical.

I've had this discussion with so many people, so many times, in so many places that I can almost predict what you will respond, and I'm sure you can read me like a book as well. You bring up good points, but I'm not revving up for an extended debate right now on the subject, so I'm going to agree to disagree with you on this one. ;)Please Log In to post.
