To be fair, I don't hate anime, I don't dislike it, but I don't like it anymore as well. It's just more or less neutral to me.
A few years ago I was obsessed with anime. I chose watching a series over reading the actual source material, either being it light novel or manga. Nowadays I'm actually more interested in manga since they are quick to read and more interesting and less annoying than an actual show. Plus; I really love the sidepanels of the authors themselves as well as their little sketchpages.
It's not the shows that have ruined it for me, or some of the tropes in them, it's just the community that destroyed it for me. Sadly the most vocal part of the anime fandom consists of elitists, annoying minors and creeps - especially towards women. I constantly got told that I'm "not a real anime fan" because I never cared to watch the popular series at the moment (back then those were Death Note, Higurashi, Elfen Lied and similar ones, I always teasingly called them "emo anime", since only a certain kind of people was really into them; edgy emo kiddies). Welp, sorry for liking more lighthearted shows I guess? And well, for the creeps; 25+ year old guys knew I was 12-16 back in the day and they still tried to hit on me in a very gross and sexual way.
I still occasionally watch a short series (12 episodes or less) once or twice a year, but due to work and other hobbies I just don't have the time for more. I can't focus on something that is over 50 episodes long, that's just way too long for me. And if I decide to watch something that long, I would rather watch a live action series instead. It just got more appeal to me nowadays.
