Update on my book

Well after lots of school work and a part time job it has been tough to develop my book that much. I have decided to make it a lot longer than I planned before. For those who know the original story and the idea of the pillars may be a bit surprised with the way I took the story. This part of the story takes place half in the pillar world and half out. I may even split it between two books. Well this is the new updated story, its a bit more far fetched than the original, I think its adds more depth:D

the backstory is the pillar world within a giant circular mountain, there are two worlds within the mountain, the people who live on top of the pillar are more advanced while the people below are more primative. But one girls mistake of leaving the pillars for the world below will change the world below forever.

The four main characters are the girl ( lets call her elize for now) the man who protects the pillars with a large group of others ( lets call him ronin for now, cliche but I will just change it later) the man who is determined to get past ronin to get to the pillars and to discover their secret ( I will call him Ian for now) and the father of Elize who tries to get her back. Both Ronin and Ian want to see what is on top of the pillars, but ronin hides it.

the new twist I have added to the story is a concept I have called centerplay ( dont ask why I call it that) which adds a big layer to the story. Ronins character has been protecting the pillars all his life and has no idea what he is guarding until Elize comes down from the pillars. Centerplay means that ronin is the center of the world he lives in, he cant create anything like a god or something like that, but the world around him changes depending on him. If he is injured or dieing the world within the mountain will start to fall apart. So now while Elize attempts to get back to the top of the pillars she has to deal with the fact that if ronin dies, so does the world around her.

The centerplay idea will continue into the next book where it is a major plot device, it may even be the main plot, who knows:P

haha sounds kinda like an anime. What are these pillars that you speak of and whats the title? I have actually thought of a couple books I want to write, i'm not really going to work on them until I'm in college.

It reminded me of Midgar from FF7 at first, with the richer people living on the advanced, industrial plate at the top, and with the slums below.

it took me a while to put this idea on paper since it sounded worse or odd on paper, but much better in my head oddly enough.

yeah I thought the original idea I had was a bit too basic, it was really simple and there wasnt much of a thread or any twists. Now with this idea I can take it beyond the world of the collums and maybe even create a whole world the characters explore. Maybe even a few books if i am lucky:D

Very interesting concept you got there. It sounds like it can go into many different/exciting directions. Keep us updated and also make updates on your blog because I'm an active blog reader. :D

I also enjoy writing, and started a novel last summer. I got through one chapter, and then college started. So I haven't worked on it since.

Make sure you maintain a consistent routine to write everyday if possible. Because losing your motivation is very easy when you have many things going on in life. 123Dan123
