Ah, thank you. In that case, I'm not surprised the U.S. government are doing such things liek this. Our freedoms and rights have been slowly eroding ever since the "war on terror" started.http://www.businessinsider.com/trapwire-everything-you-need-to-know-2012-8

I don't care.
What's that phrase? "If you got nothing to hide, you got nothing to worry about...?"
I'd rather there be surveillance cameras on every street corner in this country - it helps make solving crimes easier and may help deter some potential criminals in the long run.
So what if you not doing anything wrong why give a *hitseahorse123You don't have to worry even if you are unless it's serious. The government would use these if they are looking for someone or something in a specific area. They aren't using these to bust random people for j-waking.
On a side note, I love it when people run red lights and the red light cameras get them.
Some dude at a Dunkin Donuts was complaining about a $200 ticket he got from a red light camera.
He said he couldn't appeal it because the ticket came in the mail with a photo of the car going through the intersection LOL
I love it. Serves him right.
I love public surveillance cameras. We need more of them IMO. They'd make for great TV shows too - sorta like COPS, only with raw video feeds of people doing stupid things.
They could get Bob Saget to narrate them. "America's Funniest Public Surveillance Videos".

Not surprised. One step close to a 100% regulated dystopia, at the helm, the United States Government. The bastards.

Privacy is important. I don't want Cameras following my every move. Its already bad in the UK, Croydon is just one BOROUGH in London and it has more cameras than the whole of New York.
First of all, you have no right to privacy in public. Second, they aren't following any of your moves unless you are someone they are specifically looking for.Privacy is important. America is starting to put more camera's in public places you have just got to get used to it in places like the UK there almost everywhere most people have got used to the idea but there not being watched! only the criminals they watch and if there's a crime they can replay the footage[QUOTE="seahorse123"][QUOTE="ThisIsTwoFace"]

You should not trust any government with the ability to spy on you 24/7 since most governments serve only themselves, not you.
A case in point - UK councils using anti-terror legislation to spy on civilians
'The investigations are among those uncovered in a survey byThe Sunday Telegraphinto the use by town halls of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) 2000.
The legislation, originally intended to combat terrorism and serious crime, gives councils the right to place residents and businesses under surveillance, trace telephone and email accounts and even send staff on covert missions. Critics say the findings show local authorities are using the powers needlessly, for minor issues.'

Ikr, Im starting to act like a typical American.
It's mainly on the streets and public areas isn't it? Not homes? Because if it was in homes, that is where I would drop the line. I know for a fact that the UK has been doing this for a while.nintendoboy16It's just public and unless you are on some watch list or doing something extremely suspicious, they aren't looking at you.

So you're just a bad troll. Got it.A Troll is a supernatural "creature" from Scandinavian folklore. The internet is telling you lies.
And for those who are praising the cameras (cause theres so many). Its all fun and games until you realise that when you take pictures in public places they see you as a suspicious person.
It seems like they're trying to make it sound like Big Brother is trying to keep 24/7 survellance on people and keeping tabs on every action we make. With over 300,000,000 civillians that's literally impossible. The only time I see them logically using cameras is for investigations and catching criminals. Don't have a problem with that.
That's a horrible way to look at thingsCouldn't care less. Unless you are committing a serious felony while out in public, you don't have to worry about the cameras.

Wonder why people are upset about public cameras. I could understand being mad if they were hacking into your computer or cell phone cameras and spying on you but in public there should be no expectation of privacy.
Also, I really have to laugh at people saying the US is turning into a police state. You want to see a police state, go to Cuba. Or go to North Korea where you could be shot for saying bad things about the Kims (not Kardashian) while here you can call Obama what you want and the 1st Amendment says you can say anything about Obama that doesn't involve a threat to his life.

I never said the US is perfect, I said the US isn't even close to a police state like some posters are saying. People go on and on about losing their freedoms when they still have a lot of freedom to do what they like to include criticize the government on a gaming web site.
Besides, from what I have seen there are mainly two people against stuff like this: criminals and people who are extremely paranoid. Criminals because they are scared they may get caught doing something illegal and paranoid people who think they're so important the FBI actually cares that they jerk off every night to pictures of Kate Upton or whoever else they get off with.

Perhaps you like the idea of living in a world where your friend The Government always watches after you and makes sure you don't do anything it tells you not to. Perhaps you like the idea of any potential dissent against our good friend The Government to be stopped because they have a camera pointed at you when you go outside, and they can monitor your phone calls. Perhaps our politician friends should ask themselves "What would Stalin do?" in order to figure out how to take better care of us.
