But srsly, has news of this even spread around the world yet? The local media was having a heart attack over the riot last night, but this morning you could barely tell that anything had happened, other than some boarded-up windows on a few streets and the faint smell of teargas.

We, the rest of Canada, consider this as a Vancouver only thing

I'd change Canada lost a hockey game to Vancouver lost a hockey game. Pretty much the rest of Canada(including myself) is pretty much eyeballing Vancouver and facepalming over thier BS. Like someone else pointed out before, you never saw anything like this when Calgary lost to Tampa Bay in 2004.

Hey come on now, there've been riots in Edmonton and tons in Montreal. And Toronto, well they suck so much that it's difficult for fans to get too passionate about them in the first place. And we still got some authentic Vancouver in this riot:

I was there, 90% of the people weren't even there to watch the hockey game, they were talking about the riot before hand, in fact I have a picture of some guy who had brought a RIOT 2011 sign before the game had even started to downtown. But like others mentioned, it's mostly a vancouver thing. It happened in 1994, bound to happen now. Never really happened in any other canadian city

Isn't Vancouver up there with Vienna and Zürich in terms of cities with the highest quality of life?

The citizens of those other countries had a legitimate reason for rioting. The citizens of Vancouver were just being poor sports.

Wouldn't that just cause the car to explode? Flame -> gas -> limited space.

There was an article on reddit saying they found the kid. He's 17 so he might get off on charges but he hasn't been formally charged yet.

EDIT: 17 I mean.

lol what is this twilight?

but to be honest, im not surprised at all. i lived in vancouver for 10 years, pretty much grew up there and spent all my childhood there. i consider it my home town. its a beautiful place and a great place to live and i wish i could go back. but when it comes to the canucks, ppl in vancouver dont really mess around. the whole city shuts down when a canuck game is on and everytime they score u can always hear ppl going crazy and honking and all that. i wasnt any exception. its just a vancouver thing. not saying its right or anything, but i dunno stuff happens lol.

Yeah I doubt he's getting off scot free for this.
