If I had a girlfriend, then her. But because I'm single and loving it... video games.

GF should be the obvious answer, because she has legs on and can walk away, but video games cannot

I just got together with my boyfriend two days ago and all he does is spend time with me and I love it so much. :) And I don't have a girlfriend, but I would pick my boyfriend over video games.

Games mean more ! You can upgrade a game and get better ones all the time and newer and sharper looking, but your girl will always be the same. Your girl means more, no question.

Joke thread? I know your being serious, but a video game shoudl never take priority over any relationship, whether it be a friendship or a significant other. Ever. Period.

Maybe you can start to get interested in video games and play games with him. If I had a GF that played video games with me I would never let her go.

it depends on when you ask me.

seriously, though, she is way more important than any game... but thankfully she doesn't make me choose, and understands when i want to spend an evening thwarting evil (or aiding it, whichever the case may be).

Well, it sounds like you are pretty reasonable. It seems like youre not asking him to drop the hobby, just asking him to spend more time.

Do you guys live together? Then I think he should limit his video game time to after dinner or something. You guys get home from work or whatever, spend a few hours together, go get some food, then maybe for a couple hours before bedtime he can play WoW or something.

If you guys dont live together, then ya I think he should not be playing games period. Its rude, even if your guest is not your girlfriend. If my friend came over I certainly wouldnt ignore him or her and play games, I'd be a good host and talk and entertain them.

Do you enjoy video games? There is a compromise; maybe you can convince him to drop WoW and get a 360 so you two can play together. My friend just got his gf a 360 (with a pink controller, awww how cute!) and they play Halo 3 and stuff together.

Also, if your boyfriend plays more than four hours a day, he needs to cut back regardless of anything.

Think I'll go with girlfriend but if the girl can't understand what I like and says I'm selfish and then goes on a existential crisis over the fact I like gaming and she wants to do stuff "TOGETHER" which most of em are things she likes to do and I don't find appealing at all, rather than doing something we enjoy together actually, then videogames ALL THE WAY.

I read all the pages of this topic and this is what I think:

You seem like a nice girl that allows your bf to play wow online while your sitting next to him (thats nice since most gfs wouldnt even accept that) besides that you said you even try playing it with him however he still goes raiding. I mean seriously, its not your fault he doesnt like you, from what ive read in here you seem like a nice person however your bf is still just playing instead of adjusting even the littlest thing. I would say you have a serious discussion with him about it, tell him what you think about wow, how you think it ruins your relationship and how he thinks he can change. If all this ends up negative im affraid you're better off alone.

And the q: id answer gf, wouldnt spend a minute on a console or pc if shes here , unless she wants to play (sometimes a gf want to try and play on a 360 for example:P, that I dont mind)

Video games are way more important. I don't have a girl friend right now, but when i was with my ex, i started to play runescape and i loved that game way more then talking to her or doing anything with her. Girls aren't that important to me, i'm just not the realtionship kind of guy. I love my video games though, video games to me are like my reality. Runescape was like a second life to me, and no that is not a sad thing :)joshrocks2245

Sorry , but thats actually pretty sad in my eyes.

GF hands down, although your problem isn't video games in general, it's WoW syndrome. Some people can play WoW casually, play for a couple hours here and there, no harm done. But for others, there's something about it that slowly makes them view playing as an obligation rather than a hobby, especially when they get around to raiding.

This thread cracks me up with the responses, but I am sorry you are going through this.

Ironically enough, I think I play more videogames than the bf.

Meh, depends on the gf honestly. Usually id put games first because most of the girls ive dated have been nuts. But one I broke up with 6 months ago definitely meant more than games to me. But, im more of a lazy dude and would rather sit at home fragging noobs on cod 4 then go look for chicks. Just my personality, hehe.

I i had a GF, i wouldn't choose. I'd play games and be with my GF at different times. I' never play games with her by my side, unless she liked video games as well.

But as i don't, i actually prefer playing games rather than searching for one.

Just wondering if my relationship is normal or not and wondering about others...
My boyfriend would rather be playing WoW and raiding then be with me..
He comes home goes on Vent and then puts on headphones while he's right next to me..
So really my relationship is going nowhere (but I don't want to leave him.. -_-")

So, what really is more important to some of you
Your video games or Your GF/BF?

It's very depressing to hear stories like this where some guy has a GF and kinda treats her like ****, when there are tons of guys out there who would pour their heart out to a girl that would love them...

Video games comes first for me, then my friends, after that maybe a girl.Seriously, girlfriends are overrated.Video games dont give you trouble.(unless you suck)And they're pretty much my passion, right after art.

I mean a night out with a girl is alright then some boom boom at my place afterwords, but as soon as thats over its back to games and friends.Girls come and go.

I'm tempted to ask you guys saying girlfriend over games what you would do if your girlfriend made you miserable but you just couldn't dump her? Would you pick games or her then?

Me? I have more than enough time for both. And that's just the way I like it.

Though I'm currently single, girls in general are more important to me. And when I do have a girlfriend, she's always more important to me. Reality pleasure vs virtual pleasure....hmmm....that's not a tough one.

If you asked me this question 2-3 years ago I would say VIDEO GAMES!! Forget the girl, haha. If you ask me now....hell with the damn games. I can't explain it really, after getting a girlfriend everything has changed. Like my whole mindset and everything I do has changed. I do have some flashbacks every no and then and I still won't forget all the hours I wasting playing, but its not worth it. I'm doing things now that I never thought I would be doing and I love it. It's like a re birth again.

I wouldn't even think of placing video games above my girlfriend. Sure, I play them with her sometimes, but the second I choose games over her I'd probably be dead. :P Doesn't mean that I won't play them though in my off time, though.
