[QUOTE="Lockedge"][QUOTE="UNHOLY_basic"] armed protest... duhwii4panta

Honestly, one day one of those riot squads will break up a peaceful protest, march through the streets chasing the protesters away, and they'll run into some trap that'll kill and wound a good number of those cops. I'll feel terrible for the cops as much as I currently feel terrible for protesters, but when that time comes all hell will break loose, and it won't be the police who realize their mistakes and ease up.

You know that it is illegal to harm or to chase a peaceful protester right? That's not democrasy at all!!

(I'm not saying you claimed otherwise. I just felt the need to point it out. :P )

Thanks for clarifying for those who might not know. :) Peaceful protests are broken up all the time by riot squads because apparently they're unsightly(or out of hand) if there's too many protesters. Some people will get really miffed about having their constitutional rights stripped from them by the government funded forces that are supposed to uphold the laws of the country. They'll strike back in protest because they're apparently not allowed to do it peacefully. Of course, the police departments can say a protest got violent or out of hand, and their word will immediately be accepted whether or not it's true, so they can seemingly do whatever the hell they want.

You guys should watch the other videos on this subject before saying he deserves to die etc.... Although what he did was was wrong and despicable it was a mistake. Watch the news report where they interview the guy who trains the cops. The guy who shot him was surprised just as all the other cops were. He thought he was pulling out his taser and when it went off it caught him by surprise as well. This is by no means a murder. This is manslaughter because he didn't mean to kill the person... It's **** up, but his intentions were not to shoot him at all. He was reaching for his taser during the heat of the moment, and didn't realize which one he grabbed. Again this doesn't justify his actions, but he is NOT a murderer or a CORRUPT cop. It was a terrible mistake that should throw him in jail for a few years at most, but death or life are ridiculous.

That is such nonsense. There was a full three or four seconds of him pointing the gun at the guy before he decided to pull the trigger. Also, a taser is a small black box with a button. A gun is a heavy metal object with a safety switch which has to be engaged at all times and a trigger. He'd have to unholster the gun, flick the safety off, point it and shoot it - all without realising it was a gun, not a taser? I dont think so.

ROFL are you serious?!?!?!? You actually believe the cop thought he was tasing the guy?!?!? I'm sorry, but there is a slight difference between a taser and a gun... He knew it was a gun. You have to be mentally hilarious if you believe that crap. And it IS murder.

Can you prove me wrong Mr./Mrs BiancaDK? wii4panta
usually id be happy to prove you wrong, or atleast make a valiant attempt at exactly that. But seeing that you completely misintepreted my first comment pretty much makes it a waste of time. I would either have to reformulate my original comment in a way that you can understand, or start defending myself from the grounds you set up, after misinterpreting my original comment. Im not gonna go out of my way just to "prove you wrong". And Ninja-Hippo, youre entitled to believe that i chickened out due to wii4pantas awesome arguementation, whatever floats your boat. :)

I'd really like you to prove me wrong. And no I didn't misinterpreted your post. It may seem from the tone of my previous post that I was angry/offended but I was not. I'm open for different opinions and I didn't ask you to defend yourself, only to prove me wrong.

Murderer. Shot an unarmed, handcuffed man. Deadly force was NOT needed, the officer's life wasn't in danger at all. I'm just glad that it's on video so the court will get to see his despicable actions. I hope he rots.

Same thing happened in Greece and the place was full of rioters. And I saw another post above ("stuff like that happens everyday".) which is foolish. Stuff like that may happen everyday but this is no reason for them to continue happening. Is this an excuse to stand and do nothing?wii4panta
Okay, here goes. It is true that because "bad" things happen on a regular basis, seemingly out of any individuals control, it doesent necessarily make it reasonable in any empathetic sense. But, if you carefully read what i wrote; "A cop shoots a dude under suspicious circumstances. What can i say, it happens. Im not trying to be callous, im just wondering what the fuss is about. Stuff like this happens every day, pretty much every where, no?", youll notice that i am not promoting apathy, simply an inquiry based on curiosity as to why this incident should be highlighted as opposed to other similar incidents. At the end of your comment you write:"is this an excuse to stand and do nothing?" No, it is not. But again, if you read my original comment, youll notice i never supplied an excuse to the specific atrocity which took place, nor did i try to justify it. This is why i believe you completely misinterpreted my original comment, and given the grounds of which i formulated it (i thought it was quite basic and straightforward) i saw little reason to pursue explaining myself to you. Have a nice day.

I understand, yes. I didn't say you tried to justify that action but I can't understand why not highlight it? That's what I mean. We can't let these "minor" things pass like they never happened even if we don't plan to. Even if that cop punched that guy without justification then it deserves a highlight. Anyway ok. Have a nice day too!

[QUOTE="lilburtonboy748"][QUOTE="Curlyfrii87"]The increasing number of corrupt cops these days makes me feel uneasy! :?UNHOLY_basic
Same...I'm scared to protest nowadays.

armed protest... duh

If I was single I would. But since I'm getting married in a few months, I have to stay out of jail. In Wisconsin, we can't carry concealed weapons either for protection, so there isn't much I can do without going to jail...and I can't do that. So I'll just stick to peaceful protesting mixed with a little breaking of windows.

Ha, well the cop's life is in danger now. He's receiving tons of death threats...and that makes me happy.

Why do people side with criminals over police officers? You kids are brainwashed to hate those with power.

Im pretty sure I know what video youre talking about without looking. I usually defend the police in situaions like that but this time the cop was wrong, the guy didnt look to be any danger, or in any position to be a danger to the police, and if you want to shoot him for resisting arrest, which it doesnt really even look like he's doing, you dont have to shoot the guy in the back, or even shoot him at all, use a tazer or pepper spray. Guy should be thrown off the force and probably be brought to trial on some murder or manslaughter charge.
