I don't know why anybody would find this weird. All three of those are often linked to the nerd/social outcast stereotypes. Most stereotypes have some truth to them.
It's because Anime, Video Games and Heavy Metal are full of win, anyone who is a fan of these three things are just smarter and ahead of the curve. :PWell maybe some of u guys have noticed that there is a strong connection between liking videogames and anime, its not always like this but still a good % of people liking both of them, but what i find really strange is that a lot people (not everyone) with this taste like heavy metal (including me)....
have u guys noticed this? or why do u think all this is connected?

Love video games, used to kinda be into anime, but now I lost all interest in it, and the only genre of music that I don't like is Country.

 Wow, I think we are the same person, I love playing Halo 3, eating chinese food, blaring heavy metal music, and then topping it off by watching a few episodes of an anime before I fall asleep, and beer if my fav alcoholic drink, but Iced Tea, Root Beer or Coke will do if I don't feel like drinking. :P
Nerds like anime and videogames and heavy metal. Real men like me only play PC Games, and listen to death/black metal.KHAndAnime
Sounds more like anti-social men. :P Also I think it takes a while to transition yourself into death/black metal. I started with Heavy, moved to Thrash, Melodic Death, then Death...Not a fan of Black...yet. :P

Here's my story. Me and my friend were listening to music and playing video games. So then I say, "man, this AC/DC CD ain't heavy enough. You got anything heavier?" Friends puts on Killing on Adrenaline by Dying Fetus. Then I was like "Holy ****, ****ing awesome". This was in 6th grade. After that I started to explore metal in general. There was no too heavy, only not heavy enough.. But Melodic Death/Black ended up being my favorite anyway.Video games + Metal = PWNAGE.
It's the only time I mostly listen to metal, listening to it elsewhere feels odd.

It's Christmas every day!I love me some gaming with some powermetal, preferably Blind Guardian the most under-rated band EVER followed by a good dose of Ranma 1/2
For me...
Gaming in general (Although my pride and joy is on the PC, been playing for 15 years and going!), Various genres of Metal (Thrash, Power, Progressive and exploring Experimental with Meshuggah), Stargazing (Very new, just saw Saturn and its rings last night for the first time), Pen and Paper RPGs (I focus around DnD 3.5 and Pathfinder with some Dark Heresy here and there), playing guitar (I'm a Thrash rhythm player, been playing for 5 years), PC Hardware, Amateur Physicist (Although I'm a Physics major), used to play Magic: The Gathering, absolutely dig western comics (The Punisher and The Darkness being my favorites, and I'm trying to get my hands on the essential X-Men volumes), like only one Anime (Gundam Wing), Warhammer 40k buff, and very frequent Science/Sci-Fi/Fantasy reader (Currently going through the original DragonLance trilogy).
I think I have touched upon all of the realms of nerdom. Do I care that I'm a nerd? **** no.
bet 99% of the anime haters have only seen the crap that gets imported to the west,i seen plenty of animes with deeper storylines and characters than most western films

I know more cool people that listen to black metal than anyone else. I don't even know any slightly cool kids that listen to Iron Maiden, but my friend who DJs grew up on Burzum and I have quite a few partying friends who like that stuff. All just personal experience though!I like videogames, a few animes (Gurren Lagann and Dragon Ball series being the only ones I've enjoyed in recent memory) and I like orchestrated, rock, punk rock, techno music.
I feel the same....
it's not weird though, I visit Metal forums and they seem to dig some bizarre mangas :D

Agreed. Hating on something as vast and varied as anime is like hating on live action shows, going from One Tree Hill to Prison Break to Heroes to Battlestar Galactica. It makes little sense. Hating on a particular show or perhaps even genre is a more logical thing to do.
hey now there are a lot of excellent series that have been dubbed and importred to the west that you're calling crap here :(bet 99% of the anime haters have only seen the crap that gets imported to the west,i seen plenty of animes with deeper storylines and characters than most western films

I don't like Anime (I liked Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, DBZ when I was younger but not anymore)xTheExploitedPrime examples of anime... That's like saying you don't like action games because the GI Joe game sucked. I do like all of them, but they are not the only things I like.
I enjoy Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest and I did transition, and I'm just kidding really, 95% of kids that I know who listen to metal or see with metal t-shirts seem pretty socially awkward to me - including black/death. I even see this kid in the hallway wearing a Wolves in the Throne Room t-shirt for days straight and it looks like he never showers. Ew. :PKHAndAnimeI have never understood this, it was the same way with my school, I even tried to talk to these kids about metal (some kid had a Portal shirt on for gods sakes) so I tried to talk to him about Portal, and Anaal Nathrakh, and even then he seemed reluctant to talk to someone.
Love metal and video games. Anime not so much. Depends on the series but i haven't watched one in a long time.
Hmm, that's odd.
I play video games only a few times a year. I never liked watching anime (doesn't interest me). And lastly, I can't really stand metal (really dislike unclean vocals).
