Why does he always have to use magic to try and kill people, particularly Harry? Can't he just walk up behind him and break his neck, stab him, pour gasoline on him and set him on fire when he's asleep, shoot him? He always has to use magic, and that will lead to his demise. Thus Harry will live because everyone seems to think you can only kill with magic.We Muggles do it right.

We have to remember he has spent the past 15 odd years thinking of only one thing, and that's killing Harry. For some reason i dont think a gun would give him the satisfaction he's looking for. He wants his revenge to be sweet.

Why doesntHarry use a Sniper Rifle on Voldemort? Does he really assume Voldemort can cast a killing curse on him from two miles away while Voldemort has a hole in his face?

He is an Old man he would get his ass whooped if he tried to attack directly. Also everyone would blast him, he can't just walk down the street and get a faif fight(being the villian sucks.)

harry potter movies are a joke.

J.K. Rowling is not a good writer so that's probably why. The books weren't great, and the movies were far worse.

Well I think it is:P, better characters, better plots, better world, heck better everything. A Song of ice and fire by George R.R Martin, and The Book of the new sun series by Gene Wolfe is also much better.

Agreed on all points concerning The Dark Tower. Agreed also on ASoIaF. Not familiar with the other series.

Gandalf owns Dumbledore in terms of characters... and, well, Tolkien is a better writer than Rowling, his characters are more interesting and better developed, the world is more interesting and elaborate, the plots are more interesting, elaborate, and filled with fewer holes.

I think predictions tend to work better when you make them BEFORE the thing you're predicting has happened...

Though I must admit some of the acting on the Harry Potter films were excellent. Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman blew my mind.

Still, Viggo Mortensen, Ian Mckelen and Elijah Wood also performed very well.

The real joke of the series is his plan to take over the muggle world. Wizards are powerful, sure, but think about it.

How many wizards are there? How many muggles are there? Now, we have this thing called technology. Wizards don't even know what guns are according to the books, so if they tried to just jump us, they'd have to take on millions of soldiers, marines, police, and civilians, all armed with a variety of guns, tanks, warships, and attack jets.

All you need is an apache, magic away 50mm gattling cannon firing at 500rpm alongside multiple heatseeking, high explosive rockets. And it would only need to be 2miles away and just hover up between some trees in a sneak attack.

Well Avada Kadavra has the same effect as something like a gun (without the mess) so of course he would just use a wand. Of course with Harry a gun would have sufficed, but he despises muggles so I'm sure he wouldn't be caught dead using a "muggle killing device" unless that device is a wand and it's used to kill muggles ;)Lobster_Ear
