Besides, God gave us the Universe to use as we wish, and I think we should use every resource available to develop technology to eventually make new resources out of quantum stuff! :D.

It sounds like an idea, but humans are the only ones capable of harnessing the technology required to get us and other species off this rock when the time comes.
If we were to annihilate ourselves, we would not be saving the other creatures on Earth, but rather dooming them.
he didn't say we should kill ourselves off completely. He said we should limit every couple to only one child, which would stabalize the world's population at 1.6 billion; approximately what it was at the turn of the 20th century.

How do we know that this hasn't already happened????? I mean there could have been intelligent life on earth BEFORE we came to be. Maybe those are the UFO's everybody is seeing in the sky? I mean its not impossible.
The point is wiping out our own race is stupid and should never be considered. Maybe i would consider population laws like two kids per family or something but killing our own race is going to lead to other life forms in space not knowing we even existed.

Personally i think a black hole is more of a threat then the sun blowing up because we cannot see a black hole only track it. If humans survive until the sun engulfs we WILL have the technology to move to another planet.
However the likely hood of humans still being here when the sun dies= 1/10
