want to check out ghost in the shell...where the hell do i start?

Hey everyone. Every now and then I catch a little GITS on adult swim or something, and though I have no idea what is going on, it looks cool. I see it is not netflix, but it there are like a bunch of movies, and then a bunch of series with subtitles and numbers and stuff. Where the heck do I start? Also, is the dub any good? Its not a big deal for it to be dubbed, I am just wondering what the fans think. thanks ahead.

The TV series is a different canon the movies other than the newest movie. If you want a series, just watch the series. If you feel like it watch the movies because they are great too.

Can either start with Ghost in the shell the movie or dive right into the TV series 'Stand Alone Complex.' (the two are not related, but make sure you do not watch the movie Ghost in the shell Solid state society - until you've watch both seasons of SAC.)

The first movie, then the show. GitS: Innocence is alright and it's takes place after the first movie. I think the movies aren't in the same reality as the show. Could be wrong.

The dub is great. I'm a fan of the voice actor for The Major.
