Family guy is terrible. It is sooo stupid. The only funny about family guy is 'Stewie' the talking baby and after watching 1 episode even he get's boring. South Park is constantly different and always funny. SSJ_Nega

Family Guy isn't never funny, but it is stupid (proudly).

Familys guy's jokes are the lowest form of humour. It is based upon nothing and just random events that occur and as they are supposedly, 'so so random' they are now considered funny. Its terrible. At least South Park is a great satirical program whose humor stems from the script and not from 'randomness', which I hate now as the humour is so incredibly unintelligent and too easy to make.

South Park. Family Guy was funny, but after a while the jokes just weren't funny anymore. South Park is always doing new things.

Family Guy is funny, but not nearly as well written as South Park. All they have to do for Family Guy is make up some stupid story and then fit it in with "hey remember that time......". And that's just plain lazy as hell.

South Park is a smart comedy if you think of it. Satirical. Fami Guy is funny, but it can kill your brain cells.

I voted Simpsons, as they have so many years of consistently funny writing, even though they have been in a slump. South Park is a very close second, but like someone else said The Simpsons in it's prime blows away any of these shows, and did a lot to pave the way for animation targeted to adults.

Family Guy, however, I can't watch anymore. Years ago in high school, I thought it was funny when it first came out, and even bought the first DVD set, but was watching it one day and one of the many, many 1980s pop-culture reference jokes was so preposterously complicated and unbelievable I just gave up on the show. The show was done a disservice by being allowed back on Fox, as now it is scraping the bottom of the barrel for jokes and will likely die out after overstaying it's welcome. Futurama on the other hand, deserved the revival, in my opinion.

The way it relies on 80s references gets really old, really fast. It triggers an emotional response, if Peter says "remember the time I played Simon with Emmanuelle Lewis?" then kids from the '80s, the shows target group, will be like "hey! I remember that game Simon!" and think it's cool. That formula does work, but it gets old and to me doesn't constitute genuine comedy writing. It's the same thing as a band's singer coming to your town and saying your town is "the rockinest'", etc. I don't think Family Guy has added anything new or original to animation or comedy.

All that being said, I love comedy as well as animation, and I understand how important it is to people. This is just my opinion, and if Family Guy makes you laugh, then I can see why you think it's great, and in that respect why does it matter if it's innovative, so long as it's funny? I apologize for my long-windedness.
