It's certainly not terrible. I was disappointed, but there was still quite a bit to like.A_Tarkovsky********SPOILER-DO NOT READ******** Is the whole alien moment everyone is talking about that terrible?
********SPOILER-DO NOT READ******** Is the whole alien moment everyone is talking about that terrible? It's jarring, yes. I thought there was one visual that was really quite awesome despite seeming horribly out of place.[QUOTE="A_Tarkovsky"]It's certainly not terrible. Dude that is a horrible spoiler. You cant put SPOILER in the middle of a sentence and expect people not to read the next word.Ninja-Hippo
Yeah I mean he ruined too much lives

I didn't say he ruined anyone's life, i'm just saying he gave away the ending and just put SPOILER in the middle of the sentence right before a very important word which is central to the story. If you haven't seen it yet, it would have spoiled the movie for you.
Why argue with something which isn't even slightly unreasonable? :?

It really depends on the person viewing the movie. I've been a fan of Indy since I was 4, and I always viewed him as an awesome guy who protected what history stood for and prevented religious artifacts of power from falling into the hands of evil cults/governments. The aliens just seemed so out of place.

Who took anything seriously? You honestly seem to just be having a pop at people randomly for no reason at all. :|
I enjoyed it a lot, and i also love the old 3 movies.
One of the things i liked most in the new movie was that there really was almost 20 years since the last movie, it wasnt just the script. So seeing indy gotten that old was great fun. Plus the 50s theme was awesome.
[QUOTE="FrostyPhantasm"] The ending was horrific DJ-Lafleur
You didn't need to spoiler that...
Yeah i'm not sure why i did that actually... I think i was originally gonna say why but didn't...Now i've never seen an Indiana Jones movie and i heard everyone say if you love Indiana Jones you'll dislike it but if you just want to see a good movie see it. I was extremely disappointed, the plot twist was a horrible addition, and I know the series isn't supposed to be realistic but the ending was just completely absurd.
I liked it, but a lot of people didn't like the ending. Or Shia LeBouf.Ryo_Kensen
i thought Shia was a great addition to the cast actually which really surprised me cause i was totally expecting to hate on him
Spielberg on autopilot. This film never really had a chance, the digital age sucks the magic out of any film.MedicMike66I actually thought Spielberg's direction was quite good. Even in the silly opening, if you look at the camera work it shows how he's grown as a technical director.
Alas, there was too much George Lucas in every other aspect...

Same here, not because I hate Shia (I've liked him even since Holes) but because the whole nature of the character is out of place. However, Shia actually made the role work. You can also get a sense of his growth as an actor. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in compelling leading roles within five years.I have always been a huge fan of the Indiana Jones series, and I finally got to see the 4th film yesterday...
I really don't know what some of you guys are talking about... I thought Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was an absolutely fantastic installment of the series.. Now it's tied up there with Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade for me. I don't think this film at all killed the series, I felt like it more progressed it, and it felt totally awesome to have Indy back on the big-screen.
If the whole alien thing was what killed it for you guys, you guys need to be able to come to realize and accept that the series has always been 100% fictional - despite taking place in real times. The series is not meant to provide a history lesson - it's entertainment, and I thought the idea of alien mankind existing in ancient times was an excellent twist that you find out mid-way through the movie.
Other than that, the film had plenty of stunning effects, and I hardly noticed any cheesy CGI effects whatsoever.
I definitely cannot wait for this film to come out on DVD, it is definitely a gem I will love to add to my collection.
thanks for that post cant wait to see the movie my self...i just hope the whole twist at the end doesnt look ridiculousI have always been a huge fan of the Indiana Jones series, and I finally got to see the 4th film yesterday...

as a MOVIE its not bad at all. as an indiana jones movie it goes wayy too far from what we loved. harrison ford was actually fine being old, but someone else in the movie reminds you how old he is. the problem is that it just went too far with things that are not believable.
id say watch the movie, its entertaining - but dont hope for it to live up to the old ones at all.
I liked it, the ending was bad, though.bluezyexplain to me what was sooo bad...seriously...i really wanna knwo what im getting my self into
Personally I love the film except for the stupid ending. It's my second favorite Indy film, would've been the first if the ending wasn't god awful.
